8 is a good spot.
meh lmao.
but i agree we can't be giving up a future 1st. anything outside of that i'm willing to see what the player target and proposed deal is before i judge.

While I think shough has potential, there's also that potential he's actually not that good and doesn't progress even though we addressed rb, OL, and hopefully wr this draft.
And if he shows that he ain't it, you want that 1st round and if it land top 10 - potentially a franchise qb. Weirder shite has happened - look at Carolinas situation. Don't be the stupid idiot

if the inverse happens where you have 3 teams competing with each other to move back, the price then goes down.
im not a fan of moving off 8, but if you only give up a 3rd and some other bullshite pick, it could be to our benefit for once
That’s my thought. I think Styles is a guy you build a defense and a culture on. If you get a Fred Warner, Bobby Wagner or Demario Davis for an extra 3rd round pick, you do that every day of the week and don’t think twice about it.
Now if they want a 2nd or future 1st, tell them to kick rocks.

I like Downs for the same reason. Not as physically talented but he’s a culture guy that we need with Demario gone.

I think a 3rd could get us Cleveland's pick 6 and a 2nd could get us the Titan's pick 4. Might need some sweetener on top of that to get pick 3 from the Cardinal's.

Could see him moving a little if Love drops to 6.
What is with this idea of drafting Love after signing Etienne to 4/52M contract? Of all the stupid things the Saints could do, moving up to take a RB AFTER signing a RB to a big contract would be up there with the absolute worst

I remember when 2026 was a “super draft” of qbs

Bailey or love in a trade up that doesn’t require our this year second or next years first is the only way I wouldn’t melt like a popsicle

I mean I at least get the sentiment if you’re sure Shough is your guy.
If they think he will excel in play action then building a beast of a ground game will probably help more than most things in his development.

Having him at the top of the board is one thing, every one ultimately has a board with every player, even ones they have no chance of drafting or need for. But to actually take him let alone draft him after the Etienne signing would up there with the all time dumbest things the Saints have ever done

quote:Even a "big" RB contract is still small relative to other positions, and the Saints can get out of Etienne's deal after year 2. Another variable: the Saints may already know that Alvin is not coming back. If that is the case, drafting Love to play with Etienne for the first year or two makes a lot of sense. Could always trade Etienne after this season as well. Etienne's contract should not affect who the Saints draft at 8.

This board pre melting over the draft is to be expected

I just don't want Bain.
Tate, Lemon, Tyson, Love, Ione, Downs...whatever. Just no Bain.

Daniel Jeremiah had him going as late as 14 this morning on PMT. I think the car stuff and short arms will knock him out of the top 10.

The Saints once traded all their draft picks for the year (plus a few the next year) to get a RB who was basically a bust.
