No. We're gonna make offers to every one of these teams. Card/Titans for Bailey, Reese, or maybe Styles. Browns for Tyson is he's still available. <20% chance the Saints pick at 8. Where can I wager on this?

I want to say there’s no way we trade up but I wouldn’t put it past Loomis. If he really wants a player, he’ll make it happen.

Could see him moving a little if Love drops to 6.

Not a big fan of moving up when you're already in the top 10, but if he does I pray it's for Bailey or Love.

I really kind of feel like sticking at 8 and possibly trading back into the late 1st if the right player is there is a more palatable option.

I just don’t want to give up our first in the 27 super draft.

I wonder how much moving up in the past was Loomis' idea or Payton's.

Well if you do it right it doesn't matter as much. The Rams have only had 2 1st round picks in the last 10 years.

IMO the key is to make slam dunk picks when you're picking in the top 10-12 range. (Don't get cute and out smart yourself Mickey)

I think conservatively you think or hope the Saints will be picking in the mid teens in 2027.

I might give a 2027 1st (mid teens) and the #42 this year to get back into the 1st (~20-25ish) + a 2027 2nd coming back

Again depends on who's there.

If we get an edge or Downs or Delane at 8 and KC Conception is there at say 23-25. I pull the trigger on that deal if the Eagles, Browns or Bears bite.

Don’t trade first or seconds. Fine with trading a 3rd to get to 6 for Styles or Love maybe

I guess I just think it’s completely in our range of outcomes that we’re picking near the top 10 again next year and I doubt we’ll be able to give a 2nd and 1st for a 1st and 2nd.

Only way that happens is is the team is decimated by injuries again. Which is an option that never off the table for the Saints.

I mean I think it’s completely within the range of outcomes that Shough falls back to the field and is a mid-late teens QB and the defense just doesn’t play well. I don’t think it’s the likely outcome at all but WAY crazier shite has happened pretty often in the nfl

I don't disagree, but tend to look on the more positive side. If the Saints are picking in the top 10 next season, rot roo..

Besides I really don't see it as Shough got way out ahead of the field that he's going to come back down to earth, he just played very good for a rookie and much better the anyone thought he would. I still think he's go a lot to prove but he a lot to build off of also. Plus by the grace of God he will have an extra weapon or two to play with and the Oline will have a middle. this year.

Nobody likes trading up. mostly because of the cost.

however, if the inverse happens where you have 3 teams competing with each other to move back, the price then goes down.

im not a fan of moving off 8, but if you only give up a 3rd and some other bullshite pick, it could be to our benefit for once

Dude it's pretty common for teams to have outlier positive seasons and then regress. Our team still has a ton of holes and teams will have tape on us moving forward.

It's entirely reasonable to think we'll be in the top half of the draft in a year with average injury luck.

The scary part is if someone like Mickey doesn't agree this has to happen. I think that's what's scaring most people.

I agree trading down should be devalued this year, but NFL teams are stubborn

we can give any of them Kamara and/or Rattler and an autographed game worn authentic Thomas Morestead jersey in a frame.

Anyway.

I don’t like the idea of trading up in this draft.

8 is a good spot.
