We are still a year or two away from that honestly. Pick BPA and build. Don’t reach just because you need a defensive player. There’s too many holes and lack of depth for that.

Go watch some film, he's impressive, I just worry about his size as a blocker at the next level. I didn't like the pick at first but I can see why they want him. He's a freak athlete.

We had a good defense……and one of the worst offenses in the league (although better once Shough took over).
People keep crowning about “get defense”…..like they forgot what this offense looked like for a huge part of the season.
I would like a pass rusher……but the draft hasn’t fell that way for an edge defender that they want. I trust their ability to get DBs in the 4th…..or not draft one if the value isn’t there.

I think the issue for people is our 2 biggest needs are clearly CB and a 3rd edge, but they also think you NEED to draft those things, instead of just taking bpa, which is the best way to approach things.
FA is still ongoing. There are still players to get. And if we miss on them this year I'd rather have better players for the future than a lesser player just filling a hole.

We were decent on defense but we also had Demario Davis leading it. This is a rebuilding defense which is why I wanted to go defense. If Delp turns out good then great I’m not mad we took him, I just would have taken a ballhawking safety in Haulcy or I would’ve rolled the dice with McCoy knowing he might not play his first year.

It’s easy to tell who here didn’t watch much college football. Delp is a dude. He’s gonna be a very very well rounded TE in the league

I always figured Cam would be back but I also didn’t think hr would get as many snaps because of a DE we draft but I’m glad we went interior DT instead. Cam has plenty of gas for one more year as the 3rd DE rotating with Granderson and Chase Young.

McCoy is definitely a talented corner, I think teams are more worried about the long term. That seems to be what Saban was hinting at earlier regarding him. If he’s there in the 4th the value may be worth it.
I definitely don’t think we should avoid defense, I really like the Miller pick to help this run defense. BUT this offense was bare bones last season and you obviously can’t count on health at many of the positions on the offensive side of the roster.
So it looks like Kellen decided that he’s going to rebuild it.

I have no doubt Delp is a solid player, I trust Kellen’s talent evaluation. We still need a C/G player on the OL as well as corner. I would love another WR too maybe on day 3.

This is what’s the most important thing right now (if the organization believes he’s the guy). Yes he elevated a putrid offense……but if you put weapons around him to help elevate HIS game even more, this offense can be special.
He’s not Drew, you can’t expect him elevate to that level. He’s needs help

That doesnt mean the solution to your needs were on the draft board. This aint a grocery list.
If you are feeling immediate needs in the 3rd round of a draft, you arent going to be winning any games anyway.
