I gave you an upvote, Chad.

Not because I agree with you, but I didn’t want you to be the only one to upvote your thread.

i appreciate the upvote.

the prior sole upvote did not belong to me though. sorry to disappoint.

i might downvote my thread. Not because the idea isn't plausible. Not because I don't think Sean Payton will have a real affection for Kyler Murray. Not because I don't think Sean Payton would love catering his offense to a style qb like Murray and be successful. Not because its completely unfeasible as for the Saints to position themselves high enough to draft Murray when at this time its plausible he can go anywhere from the 1st pick of the draft to maybe the top few picks of the 2nd round. I might down vote myself because i wasted the entertaining topic with a group of mouth breathing punter humping imbeciles.

So plausible he can be more available than previous thought. Stock is a total crapshoot at this point.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports NFL scouts he's spoken to grade Oklahoma QB Kyler Murray as a second- or third-round pick.

RapSheet also made it clear that Murray's decision to submit his name as a 2019 draft prospect does not necessarily mean he will play in the NFL. Murray's agent, Scott Boras, has told the Oakland Athletics his client will report to spring training on time in April. At just 5-foot-9, Murray has been bantered about as a potential top-ten pick. A day-two draft selection seems more likely considering his size and questionable-at-best dedication to football as his primary sport.

As long as #9 is still playing, we should be drafting to win now.

No way. I'm usually not a measurements guy as I've seen what Drew has done, but this guy is a full 3 inches shorter than Drew. At some point, measurements win.

While his talent is undeniable man this kid is 5 foot 9. 6 foot is barely workable in the NFL. Now I can see us taking him as another gadget type player...I just couldn't risk handing the keys to him. Maybe it could work...but it would be a huge maybe.

His draft stock is a bit of a mystery which leaves a Saints door slightly open.

Because nobody even knows if they'll be able to sign him.

No NFL team is going to use a first on him unless he commits to playing football and not baseball. Drafting him would be a big gamble in more than one way.

That midget should stick to baseball. Product of the system. He is no Baker. With his size he would have a short NFL career.

Say Murray finds himself in that 16-22 range in 1st

if he does go the football route, he's not getting out of the top 10...

I'm with you here. Murray maybe the most intriguing QB prospect in NFL history. His physical tools are undeniable just like you said. He has a rocket for an arm. He has unbelievable speed & quickness. He is very accurate. He also shows the intangibles of work ethic & leadership.

His height will be a serious issue though. It shouldn't be an issue out of the pistol or shotgun formation but it definitely will be when he has to take snaps under center. There is no way Murray will be able to see above linemen, downfield on quick throws/3 step drops. The routes & steps in a drop back are all timing based. He may have issues on even 5 step drops because he may not be able to see the entire field until he hits his last step in his drop back.

This was never an issue at Oklahoma because he ran everything out of the pistol or shotgun but you better believe that will change in the NFL. If he can't take a snap from under center in 3 & 5 step drops, it eliminates a big chunk of an offense's playbook.
