He’s absolutely the best performing first rounder we’ve had in a long time on the DL.

When you move up in the first for a DL you hope to hit on a Cam type of guy.
We have missed last few times lol

Love Colston, but Cam clears him easily. Cam was on the all-decade team for the 2010s at defensive end while Colston never made a pro bowl (though he should've).

I’m not holding it against him. Cam Jordan is a great player, but nowhere near the dominant force Watt was. Saying “he has better stats than JJ Watt” is misleading, at best. He has 1 more sack in 40 more games played.

Jerome Bettis* has better overall stats than Jim Brown. Doesn’t mean anything when comparing the two.

Cam’s numbers are due to longevity which is impressive but he was never the best DE in the league at any point in his career.

He is not a one trick pony like some guys that can only rush the passer.

Even then, he never sniffed being the best DE. The best DEs typically are impactful in the run and pass game (Von Miller, Mack, Watt, Garrett, etc. during Cam's career). It's not hating on Cam to say he was always in that 2nd or 3rd tier (depending on how narrow your top tier is), because he was always in that 2nd or 3rd tier.

Uh, yeah?

Playing in 2.5 seasons more worth of games over the same period yet having just 1 more sack but 45 less tackles for loss, 98 less QB hits, 12 less fumbles forced and 12 less passes deflected doesn’t give him “bEtTeR sTaTs tHaN jJ WaTt.”

JJ Watt is HIM. Just a dominant, game changing force as a disrupter.

That was in 2021, he also missed 1 in 2022 because of a orbital fracture (don't recall if from Balt or Pitt game)

Which is always funny to me because I remember the melt about getting him because his draft profiles all said similar things about his inability to rush the passer and he would be a better fit in a 3-4 but we run a 4-3...

Jordan is a great combination of size, strength and speed for a 3-4 defensive end prospect

At his best against the run

Probably will never be an impact pass rusher, hasn’t put up big sack totals, but still works hard in that area

Despite good bulk, may be considered a bit light in the pants for what some teams are looking for in their three-man front

I remember that melty melt. And posters were annoyed at his slow start the first two years and thought he might be a bust.

One thing I remember was his coaches, writers and team mates from Cal all saying we were "getting a great guy" and "watch out for his sense of humor".

Cam played his middle 4 seasons at RDE with hardly a drop off in production. Played on both ends of the los equally well.

Cam is still producing.

Every deal he has signed has been team friendly.

He's taken massive paycuts to stay here in a time he could have broken the bank.

At this point I don't care what it takes to keep him here.

Woah- maybe top 5 defensive players.

1- Brees
2- Rickey Jackson
3- Roaf
4- Colston
5- Sam Mills
6- Cam Jordan

No offense to Roaf or Colston or Mills (and Mills is one of my all-time favorite NFL players) but Cam is above all of them. And IMO he's barely behind Rickey Jackson. Numbers are very close. The unbelievable one sack in his rookie year is the only thing keeping him from being second to only Brees for me.

No you can't. Don't be silly.

No way is he ahead of Willy Roaf. I agree he is above Colston and Mills tho.

Jahri Evans really doesn't get much love from this board.

4th round
10 years
5x all pro (4 1st)
6x pro bowl

You could argue he could be top 5.

But cam is easily top 5, if not top 3.
