I still don't understand the pick.

McCoy a 2nd rounder who was excellent, Ruiz was always a center. Not a guard. Let's take him anyway

It's nuts. Maybe a question at the time about McCoy inside rumors scuttlebutt they believed? That's all I can think. Otherwise made little sense.

Wasn't one of the things also thinking McCoy to bounce outside and Ruiz as center not as guard?

Does Ruiz historically play center better than guard?

From what I remember when we moved him to center for a few games a couple years ago, he was better, when McCoy was hurt.

We won’t get anything for him he’s so bad. It’s why I said in the off-season maybe we should trade McCoy for a good player at a position we could use and move him to center to improve the team. Any guard we put in can’t be worse than him.

Ranked too high. Should be further down the list.

Ruiz totally whiffed on a block on run play against the 49ers. After the play he threw his hands in the air. That's exactly how many of us feel about his play rhe last few seasons.

He whiffs on at least 2 plays a game.

Curious as to why people thought we had a team full of elite players? Many picked us to have the least wins this year but people just don't seem to believe it. None of this stuff is surprising.

Who said that? LOL, this is one of the least talented rosters since the Ditka Era. I seriously don’t remember anyone saying how talented this roster is? You must be misremembering.

People crying when we're losing during the games. The 2 games have been closer than I was expecting.

One play here and there and the complexity changes.

Juwan comes down with that catch momentum your way.

Put the ball on the spot for olave and it's 7 instead of a shanks d fg.

This is how I remembered the situation. New coach kind of has his hands tied.

They’ve been over-paying horrible first round guards since Peat was drafted in 2015.

People give Peat shite but he was never this bad

He was drafted like Penning as a ten year LT.

So kinda not so good.

Ruiz isn't great at center either. You would be getting rid of a top 5 center with a new qb and moving ruiz into another position that he isn't good at.

I know I really wanted Justin Jefferson that year. I also wanted Chase b/c I knew he was going to be great, but no way we could move up that far.

But Jefferson was easily obtainable. Said it a bunch of times in the draft threads, he would have known our offense after lsu took Joe Brady and there was scaled back practices due to COVID. Woukd have been a perfect pick for us.
