Look, I don't know where these credible people are hearing these rumors, but if they're from reading TD or from tweets from a guy in Nola East, then I don't believe anything anymore.

Just as I typed that Scott Rabalais mentions rumors of a torn rotator cuff.

Try again:

Scott Rabalais retweeted Lyons Yellin WWL-TV
Rumors growing that Brees has a torn rotator cuff, so a highly relevant post by Lyons there. Scott Rabalais added,

Drew Brees was in the #Saints locker room today and showed no visible signs of an injury. He's scheduled to speak to the media on Wednesday.

Oh, I see...Rabalais is basically dismissing the torn rotator cuff thing, then? Twitter is hard sometimes, bro.

Remember that rotator cuff tears can vary wildly in severity. It's possible to have a tear and not even know it if you aren't very active.

I've seen/heard some studies that as much as 20% of the aging population have tears, even without symptoms.

Not sure what you are reading. The rotator cuff is much harder to come back from. There is hardly any blood flow and it takes a long time to heal. If it's a complete tear they have to cut the frayed ends off of the tendon put sutures in, that remain in place. The tendon has to grow over them which is a real slow process. You also shorten the tendon so a lot of stretching has to be done before you get mobility back. Bress had torn labrum repaired before we got him. He was back throwing a few months after the repair.

I'd say Brees is prett active

Not saying his shoulder wasn't bothering him but he never even flexed it or stretched it besides right after that play.

Had he torn his rotator cuff he would have been trying to work out the kink in his shoulder the rest of the game and he wasn't

That's inaccurate. He was constantly moving it on the sidelines, and taking throws with McCown.

He kind of was. He was moving around a lot more than usual on the sidelines

Favre was back throwing a few months after too at an older age than brees

It also depends on the severity.

A torn labrum is considered one of the worst injuries in sports, especially for pitchers

if he had a torn rotator cuff he'd be in a sling.

possibly, possibly not.... if its a slight tear, maybe level1-2 then it would just hurt like a sum bitch and he probably wouldn't need a sling. that would explain the ducks and massive under throws post the hit. he definitely hurt something during that time.

if surgery is needed, then definitely post surgery...
