A three-member appeals panel has overturned the player suspensions in the Saints bounty case, according to a source familiar with the ruling.
The panel overturned a ruling by NFL system arbiter Stephen Burbank that commissioner Rodger Goodell was within his powers under the collective bargaining agreement to suspended four players for their alleged roles in a pay to injure system.
According to source, the suspensions are voided immediately, howevever the commissioner can reconsider discipline if -- and only if -- there is evidence of intent to injure beyond just a performance pool.

ESPN not reporting
They've been genuinely slow about this story lately. Which is ironic since they ran off like a kid with ice cream when the wire tap nonsense hit.

Per Mike Triplett :

Wow.
Good for the Saints players, but I wonder about the actual legal ramifications of this ruling.
I don't know shite when it comes to legal matters outside of simple tax law.

But I think this means they're free to play now, right? At least until another ruling comes down

Guess what? He will re-suspend them after releasing something that is completely arbitrary.
It will always go before Berrigan in the end.

This is good for the Saints hopefully it doesnt get much uglier than this. I still dont see SP coming back this season, although I wish I were terribly wrong.

So according to Triplett's latest tweet, Roger doesn't rule on this again?
