Is it? They’re probably the least talented team in their division thats always competitive.

Supposedly out priced himself. Scared off a few teams.

If we have a complete disaster of a year next year i hope they back up the Loomis trucks for him.

wonder if Washington goes after Bobby Slowik now.

if so then Johnson may just stay put in Houston with a promotion?

WAS has the most cap space in the league and the ability to get a franchise QB at 1.2. Best job available

And what free agents are willing to come to Washington? Having a top pick doesn’t automatically mean he pans out- see Carolina. In my estimation the best job out there was the Chargers, before Harbaugh got yhe job, with an established QB like Herbert. Washington job is a complete crapshoot and they havent been competitive for a while. There is a complete lack of talent on that team.

2 reasons

1 - he had too high an asking price so he screwed himself with that stupidity

2 - he thinks he has a shot to get moved up to HC if they make a much needed change

worst case is he has another good year and will be smart enough to keep his mouth shut about his asking price demands next year

Could've bombed the interview. Put out you're staying put immediately after to keep your stock as high as possible

Doubt he bombed the interview. Anyone interested in him as a HC could have and would have at least had preliminary interviews with him.

My take is that he's the hot commodity for HC at the monument. He may feel like he's got unfinished business and nothing short of a complete meltdown of Pete Carmichael proportions would change people's minds for him as HC next off season.

Also, selfishly, I'm going with he really wants the Saints job so he's holding out for 2025 when DA gets fired.

Very surprised he didn’t take this one. Commanders and Hawks didn’t want to fork out the dough?? I would have

They have one of the better WR rooms in the league and two of the best DTs in the league. I wouldn’t exactly call that a lack of talent. Plus, Johnson should know better than anyone that a good draft or two can turn a middling team into a contender pretty quickly.

Plus they have two second round picks and two third round picks this year. That’s a lot of draft capital.

Ben Johnson and Joe Brady would top my list for 2025 if they have another good year and the Saints finally wise up. This is potentially excellent news for us

Agree with the DTs. Disagree on the WRS- its only McLaurin and he didn’t put up mind blowing stats. To me overall if thats the best you have- thats a severe lack of talent. I get what people say in regards to draft capital but they aren’t in the nfc south, the nfc east is notoriously competitive every year and they’re not close.

Nobody has any proof of his asking price. It’s all speculation from some report who said that was going to be his asking price mid season. 2, the commanders job is crap. This organization is crap. They’re losers from top to bottom. They have all the cap room and high draft picks all the time and they’re always garbage. My guess is he wanted control of personnel but coaches imo are way too willing to take any job. For instance, that Carolina job is awful. Johnson shouldn’t take a job unless it’s the right job for him and in a place he feels like he can implement whatever he wants. Also, he isn’t getting the HC job in Detroit. Fire the guy who just changed your loser culture for 30 years in 3 years and took you to the NFCCG? Yes Campbell should have done things different but they are the last team that needs a “much needed coaching change”. Idiotic.
