That's your choice, but at least you aren't saying ignorant shite about why N.O. isn't a great city to the national media.

There are shitholes in certain parts of every city. New Orleans doesn't have a monopoly on this. I have been to many big cities and have seen shithole areas in every one of them. New Orleans also has some nice/scenic areas and some of the blighted areas wouldn't be as bad if it wasn't for hurricane Katrina.

Agree. The parts of the city people like Allen visit aren't shithole areas though. And you really aren't going to see that on your normal travels in from the aiport.
It ain't like people walking to and from restaurants and hotels in downtown N.O. are being shot.
He's just mad I guess that the quarter isn't all a big pretty strip mall with 32 generic chain stores/restaurants.

yeah, I don't sense any Nola pride from you bro.
Whether he is right or not the people that are actually from the new orleans area... are going to be offended by this.

I hope you're not trying to be condescending here. I'm from Alabama and I love New Orleans. I've been going to Saints all my life and enjoy all my visits. I've lived on the Alabama Gulf Coast my whole life and I take pride in where I'm from.

Well this is interesting. Man, when I read your comments at first I was like "Yea, I agree" and then 3 seconds later I was like "what the frick? I live here now and I don't see it that way!"
I've lived in Birmingham, Atlanta and now New Orleans and I can assure you that B'ham and Atlanta has much worse parts of town than NOLA (being objective). Don't get me wrong, NOLA has it's fair share of sketchy spots and shitty people, but let's be real - who doesn't?
Let's put it this way - I'd much rather be walking by myself in the WORST part of NOLA at night than walking by myself in the WORST parts of ATL or Bham.
Those 2 cities I'd get shot for being white and it being dark. At least in NOLA I could maybe say "Who Dat?" and have a fighters chance at living. Although I wouldn't mean it!!

Because I said there are shithole parts of New Orleans? Newsflash buddy, maybe you don't venture out of Poydras or St. Charles, but shite gets a little crazy everywhere else in NOLA.
And to Breesus, while you spewed plenty of vitriol at me for saying what I said about parts of a city, you then attack my character because of where I work and live and attempt to put me on blast? I could give a frick what you think of Lafayette, say whatever the hell you want about it. But you sound like a thin-skinned fagggot when you start with personal flames for no fricking reason.

I apologize, I was absolutely trying to be condescending to anyone from Atlanta (especially Falcons and Georgia fans) and fans of the Crimson Tide. If your simply from Alabama, i may have a problem with you, however if you like Bear, Nick, or the Tide. Then yes you should feel insulted.
For instance... DoubleDown should feel insulted by this post.

exactly, our food and music must be terrible for so many to visit here.

please no objective facts allowed here. Everyone thinks NOLA is worse due to what they saw in the aftermath of Katrina. They cannot think for themselves that this would have happened in any other big city.

Its just hillarious how people view Nola....while living in Houston for the past 8 years, I heard it all. How dirty New Orleans was? How much crime there is? You name it! Food is not that great! I just told them jump in my car, and I can take you to parts of Houston you simply refuse to admit are there. Literally, leave Hobby airport, and you see a poor neighborhood. Go just north of Downtown on Main, you'll see a neighborhood that rivals the worst neighborhood in Nola, or America for that matter. Ignoring it doesn't mean its not there....buuuuut noooooo, they can talk so much shite about New Orleans as if their city is nothing but River Oaks or the Woodlands...gimme a break stupid!

My thing is, don't act like your city(Jared Allen and all other dumbasses), or any city is completely free of poverty or crime...thats just ignorant. Does NO have its issues, absolutely. Do I feel like its slowly getting better, I do....do I think this city is more unique than any other, without a doubt. Back to my original point, theres a reason people(the NFL, NCAA) invest in NOLA for hosting so many events, time after time....its a GREAT CITY!

Dude I'm from Nola and am well aware of what goes on down there. I just choose to focus on the great things the city offers like food, music, culture and all of the great people that DO live there. Instead of siding with a biased-butt hurt football player who has never appreciated the city at all and bases his opinion from what he see's on tv... b/c if you think he got his opinion from personal experience I'd have to call BS. EVERY city has its "shitholes" but that doesn't mean thats how they should be judged.
