Yep, no doubt about it. McCarthy and the GM looked pissed.

Trade Graham for another first rounder. Best draft ever.

We needed this type of player. I love Landry but he doesn't solve the lack of separation problem our WRs had. Cooks does. You can't teach speed.

If packers really wanted him that makes it even better. They are playoff rivals and very good at draft

I'm pleased with this pick. It's a shame we had to trade up, but if that's what it took to get Cooks, I'm fine with it.

If CSP and Loomis really wanted him enough to trade up, then he's probably going to be really good for us.

Like our prev 1st round picks at WR and RB?

Great perspective for you haters

@MoveTheSticks: Cooks is the same height as Desean Jackson but he's 20 lbs heavier. (coming out Jackson 169, Cooks 189). DJ ran 4.35, BC ran 4.33

Saints have to consider trading next year's first rounder if Dennard keeps dropping. We're clearly in win now mode and coming away with possibly the best CB and best WR in the draft would be amazing.

People on here would have bitched regardless of who we picked.

At least it's not as big a meltdown as last year

Well my preference in the first was Mosley, Gilbert, Dennard, Cooks, Beckham, Shazier, and Verrett(with some other guys I wouldn't have minded).

Pretty happy overall.

for real. SP and Loomis have not been good at drafting offensive players in early rounds. and, I hate losing a 3rd round pick because of this. They have been dynamite at drafting value in later rounds. They need to stop getting enamored with 1st and 2nd round guys and trading picks for them.

Cooks might be the real deal. But, I hate losing a 3rd round pick. I would've hated it even if we got Dennard, who I really wanted.

I just don't like giving away a 3rd round pick after not having a 2nd pick for a few years in a row.

that's all.

The amount of people who know more than Loomis or Payton is astounding. Such a privilege to be able to post here.
