You hyper focus on specific, arbitrary weights.
We don't know what he has been playing at previously until now. He needs to be the right weight for HIM.

Zion can jump way higher than any of those guys. Big guys jumping/ extra pressure is also what gets them injured.
So essentially not only should Zion be healthier but he should have even more hops.
Going from 290 to 270 doesn't make you weaker or easier to move around. If anything he may have more leverage and power.

I just accept that unless he steps on a scale in front of me I will never know Zion’s true weight.
Which is frustrating, but he played 70 games last year. He looks better than he has since we drafted him. I am optimistic

It seems like his stepdad was finally being honest. Saying he is 280ish now and looks like that means he has been playing at 300ish or more in the past.

He does look more confident with the beard.
In general he looks more confident. I think actually losing the weight will grow his confidence.

If he's 280 now, he was well north of 300 at times

We can look at Zion and see that he is markedly skinnier than he has been in the past. Pictures can lie, true, but it certainly appears that he has lost a decent amount of weight. At least 20 lbs.
If we are looking at him and he is skinnier, and they are saying he is 280 and wants to be 272...he was definitely playing at 300+

its like some one told him to try and elongate his neck to look skinnier. Picture from media day a couple years ago and these pictures this weekend his neck looks 5 inches longer

That's because unfortunately the NBA is fixed these dudes don't want to lose on purpose some of them can't except it till there 5th or 6th year in at that point it's like screw it I'm getting paid anyway.
