Zion’s injury - a little more explanation.

While I constantly held back from posting to prevent the “bashing”, I’ll post on this topic.
This is an issue Zion has been dealing with for quite some time. Not sure when the initial injury occurred(could have been college or recently). Yes, as rumors say, it’s a meniscus. It’s a torn lateral meniscus. Also has a mildly strained MCL. The testing is to see if he will have a scope performed now or after the season. My guess is that sooner is better than later, but that’s just a guess. To say this could NOT impact him long term would be a lie. Meniscus injuries linger and linger to the point of where surgical intervention is needed. Even after that, fluidity in the knee is reduced. However, this should almost be unnoticeable due to his athleticism. I don’t expect it to limit him in his young years.
The extra testing was for imaging focusing on MCL. Pelicans were worried about a possible MCL, LCL, PCL tear. This goes to show that the injury may have been more acute which could have made symptoms he has been dealing with worse.
I expect him to be out 6-8 weeks if a scope is used.
I expect 3-4 weeks if conservative treatment is used. He will be on limitation when he returns. Expect it.
My guess is he resumes b ball activity in 2 weeks to “test” his knee out. At this time he and the team may opt to trim the meniscus which would put him out 6-8 additional weeks as mentioned. If not, he will return fairly quickly and should be close to normal.
He’s walking and could play now if needed with no noticeable limitation.

What does that mean? Is there good reason to believe he is lying?

The reports are saying itll be a period of weeks and it looks like you covered all possibilities from 2 to 8 weeks.
Good job.
Good job.

He’s tried to be an “insider” on here in the past but it’s extremely apparent he isn’t one.

There’s no way this dude is privy to the medical information

Go look through his posts. It’s what he does. He has no information whatsoever.

He's tried to be an insider with sources before. Got at least one thread whacked that I can remember. I'm sure that's what FB was referring to.

So you are saying the team itself is lying about it being a long term injury? You are also trying to say it’s been lingering since duke, but nobody leaked this before the draft, or now? Come on man. Get real.

Wasn’t he the one saying Tatum wasn’t on the table when most of us thought that was crazy talk?

Anyone who signs their posts are full of shite.

This guy is likely full of shite.
Same time, if it is a meniscus year, I have had surgery twice to repair mine as recently as last year. I'm not a pro athlete or doctor, but am familiar with recovery standards.
Repair is usually 2 weeks non weight bearing, then in a brace for another 4-6. Best possible long term outcome, longest recovery.
Trimming it or removing it isn't ideal, but recovery time is much quicker. Maybe a week or two, but less meniscus so future problems are more likely

He said it mid-June, 2 or so days before the AD trade

FYI, he posted it the exact same day that Woj came out with a report saying the Pelicans could get Tatum but nothing else would be included, or a package without him but with a bunch of pieces.

How much risk is there for trying to play a little too early?

I'm not a doctor but i wear shoes and i run to the bathroom from time to time.
Zion literally tore and busted a fresh Nike shoe.
Literally made it go boom.
You think his level of athleticism isn't going to wreak havoc on his knees and ligaments...?
