We were 97-129 under griffin coming into this season. On his 3rd HC, Kira NAW Hayes Bledsoe Adams etc

Not sure 23 games erased all the bad just yet

Eh. I would say the past two seasons have helped wipe out the first two seasons, and Griff is in the positive margin now.

People here were calling for he and greens head as recent as that pacer loss in early Nov

I’ll long contend the McCollum and Nance trade saved the team and Griff’s job. Domino effect that solidified Ingram and Zion’s commitment. Moves with no real consequence (herb and Jose) erase the lotto pick blunders in the public eye. Dyson’s a win

Everyone’s already turned on the Graham acquisition. Jonas and CJ extension is moving into the crosshairs of casuals

At the end of the day a healthy Zion will make us forget a lot of misses

I think, of all the decisions made that helped steer the team in the right direction, the single biggest and best one was canning SVG after 1 year. The hire was bad to begin with, but a lot of owners would not have fired him and kept paying him and another coach. For that and the willingness to go into the tax, ownership is an asset to this team IMO.

I remember after we got bounced in the bubble I think by the Kings or Suns, Swin Cash made a comment saying no one will remember or care about the 8 seed in the bubble if by 2023 the Pels are handling business.

That Blazers loss really broke some guys/gals here.

Yep, and it's fine, nothing new. There are only a handful of posters who dont react emotionally in the moment. Have a good game and you're the 1 seed, lay a stinker and youre counting lottery balls

Daniels was a Davis pick.
id like to see 2 more hits of the four (4?) more davis picks & swaps.
luck be a lady.

in my theory pels will do well enough and look good enough in the upcoming playoffs to attract one free agent playoff rotation veteran to new orleans.
maybe the stashed euro pays off. a lot of ways to win.

Sanity check, just to set the record straight ....

1. This version of Pels spiraling downhill @ end of 21 season and had to fire SVG
2. Big Hit when Zion not available to start 21-22 season
3. Low-point when it became apparent Zion would not be available anytime soon .. team starts 2-12
4. Coach Green staves off nosedive by staying positive and instilling team-work
5. Pels insert Herb into lineup ... Defense improves
6. Pels go with big lineup with Hayes and Val rallying around BI ... Offense improves
6. Pels pick up CJ easing pressure on BI ... Offense starts to flourish, BI becomes leader of the team
7. Jose, Nance and TM3 step up ... Key and valuable pieces added to rotation ... Team realizes they are dangerous
8. Playin push and playoffs ... Team gains confidence
9. Zion healthy to start the 22-23 season ... Team primed for a playoff run as a top 6 team
10. Zion rounds into shape as Duke Zion; Jose, TM3 improve and Daniels turns out to be a potential lottery steal ... Team primed for Finals contention

... Don't muck it up

Tiger rant scoreboard moves to fast for me so maybe it’s like that over there too but this places comes UNGLUED during losses sometimes lol.

Practically every team in history, including the best of the best, get worked once or twice a season when they shouldn’t. It’s not that big of a deal and happens all season every season.

We are 8-2 in our last 10 but if we lose to the pistons tomorrow there will be threads saying we need to trade at least 2 starters and that willie needs to right the ship or the season’s over.

I will own it to an extent. They took many many steps backwards to go forward. The franchise is viable today because they were forced to trade a transcendent player. Which by the way, happened 3.5 years ago already (a trade in which I liked btw. Was in the minority).

David griffin should have been fired after the Van Gundy stuff. Plain and simple. He let Gentry run too long as is, then was able to keep his job after he had to fire a coach after 1 year.

I will hat tip Griffin & scouting department of the last few drafts. He probably shouldn’t be in that position, but he was, and they hit some HR. Adding CJ McCollum was an integral part of taking this next step, too.

The TV deal is still complete crap and sheds light on the amateurism of the team ownership. They are losing so much money & exposure in the local market right now. Saints are bad, Pels are rolling. But a ton of people cannot watch or afford to watch.

I’m glad they are playing well & never afraid to own what I say. I’m a two time pels season ticket holder, I’ve poured money into and invested in this team. I couldn’t be happier they are flourishing

Good on ya for taking the L. Anyone who has lots of takes is going to have lots of bad takes, even if they get most things right.

I certainly have had my share of bad ones. I predicted NAW would eventually become an all-star.

I have L’s all over the place but I don’t mind taking them because what I say is sound & I know how to filter emotion. At 40yo, This pelicans take is about emotional as I will get over something related to sports.

As a franchise you don’t really have a direction when you fire a coach after 1 year. I’m glad it’s working out. The saints are going through the same thing right now, so please spare me if you think highly of Gayle benson as an owner.
