Just posted on Pelicans website

His hammy is progressing as expected

ETA: pelicans.com

quote:

The New Orleans Pelicans announced today that forward Zion Williamson was recently re-evaluated for his right hamstring injury. The re-evaluation showed that Williamson’s hamstring is healing as expected and he is making good progress with his recovery. Williamson will continue his rehabilitation process, which includes strengthening his hamstring and gradually progressing to more movement. He will be re-evaluated again in two weeks.

I feel like you purposely put this in the subject headline instead of this:

And then in two weeks they’ll say it’ll be another two weeks . This is such a buzzkill for this season , as an absolute huge fan of this franchise , I’ve totally lost so much excitement this season had built up . Just sucks

The headline certainly pissed me off and then the report is not so bad news.

If it's healing as expected, why ever announce 3 weeks? Just say 5. Hell say 6 to be safe.

Yeah I honestly thought this evaluation was going to show full recovery and then he would be back to practicing, not that it is progressing like normal and another evaluation in 2 weeks…stupid me I guess lol

How is the excitement gone? This is still a Top 4 team in the West, and we're getting BI back in the next few days.

This team won 36 games last year, everyone just needs to relax and let our guys get healthy.

To be expected. Woj came out shortly after it happened and said this was not a mild strain and that he wouldn’t expect Zion for at least a month.

So we complain that the team tells us nothing and now we complain that they told us exactly what they were doing?

This is exactly what we should want the team to do, and they did it. And Zion is progressing, I don't see the issue.

It’s dumb af for the organization to say we’ll evaluate the dude in 3 weeks then everything looks good and then say cool now wait 2 more weeks till another evaluation. They're basically telling us nothing in terms of an actual timeline to return to play

It would be nice if their original wording was something like "we will evaluate him in 3 weeks to see how he's progressing but we expect to be without him 4-8 weeks"

That’s 5 weeks for evaluation. Not even ramping up process.

It’s not really good news either if the expectation was 3 weeks and then ramp up is possible.
