Hamstring injuries and time missed since 2010. Zion not even checked again until 5 weeks or 35 ish days after injury. That’s wild.

Jake/Shamit etc need to start hammering Willie and Griff. The way this organization provides injury information to its fanbase is insulting.

Do other teams handle injury updates like this? Maddening.

It’s not really good news either if the expectation was 3 weeks and then ramp up is possible.

I was never expecting that, no one should have.

As someone said, Woj said it wasn't a very mild strain, so that should have been the expectation for anyone.

No one should have expected reevaluation 5 weeks after a hamstring injury for an NBA player under NBA medical supervision. No one.

which includes strengthening his hamstring and gradually progressing to more movement

This quote says to me that in 2 weeks if everything is good he will then be able to practice.

I cant believe the amount if people that complain about there being no updates on guys, then team gives the updates and you complain about that. WTF is wrong with this fanbase?

It's hilarious.

It's funny seeing the posts in this thread with mostly people freaking out compared to all the folks I have in a list on Twitter that talk Pels(no not just Pels beat writers.) Here, 90% complaining, everywhere else, I haven't seen a single complaint yet.

People complain about the dishonesty. Aka, Zion will be ready for opening night. Aka, BI hopes to play on the road trip (though that was more him). Based on how they are reporting, they expected Zion to be out for more than 5 weeks. Say that!!!

But I can tell you why they don’t. They are trying to sell tickets. Nothing more, nothing less. When what they should be doing is gaining the trust of their fan base and selling the brand over a player.

That’s easier said than done when you have a Zion on the roster. But a lesson I hope they eventually learn.

What should happen, tell us?

You don't know the severity. If it were grade 2, which every indication is that it is grade 2, then he's tracking at the moment on that timeline and not behind.

Pretty sure that site is inaccurate.

I know Delon Wright missed around 2 months with a grade 2 hamstring injury this season, but I don't see him on that list.

Also it could include guys that "injured their hamstring" in order to get a few days rest in the era of load management. Like when CJ has "right ankle soreness" or something they put on the injury report so they can excuse the player for a night.

They told you re-evaluation in 3 weeks.

If you’re stupid enough to take that as anything more than thats the absolute earliest he can begin return to practice, thats your fault, not the teams.

All of y’all are complaining for what. We finally get an update. They said they were gonna re evaluate in 3 weeks, not he’s gonna be back in 3 weeks. No setbacks. Everything is healing. Hamstring injuries take time… it’s obvious from the way he hobbled off the court that it would be more than a couple weeks. The best thing to hope for is that we can stay afloat with BI while Z is out and heals it up to 100% before returning because what you don’t want is for it to be a lingering injury where he is playing and not able to be as explosive as normal.

That’s an interesting list.
We know everyone and every injury is different.. but that’s a pretty wide spectrum and to be ‘evaluated’ after 25 days puts him 5th on the list out of 64…and WAAAAAY above average for time out over the last 13 years!
