From Scoop B
quote:

Pelicans are hopeful Zion Williamson can return to action a few games before the All Star break, I’m told. He’s shared he wants to participate in the All Star game even if it’s just a few minutes. Pelicans need their superstar back in the midst of a 10 game losing streak.

Either at home vs the Cavs, or on the road against the Thunder would be the 2 best chances as the team has 2 days off before each of those games

So it sounds like he wants to return to play a few of our games just to be ready to play in the all star game.

Better than faking injury for 8 weeks because you're emo about not being the star

Ooof, he should really sit it out for the betterment of the team. Not a direct quote from him though so I'll take this with a grain of salt.

I'd rather him not.

This thread us is proof that fans will complain about anything

We get great reports that Zion is ahead of schedule and we're whining.

You don’t think criticism is warranted for our star that his played I think now less than 40% of the games he can since coming in the league wants to play in a meaningless game?

If he's healthy at the time, no not at all.

What schedule? It's been wait and see since he got hurt.

Blame the wording and messaging as usual

The “Pelicans” think/are hopeful he will play a few games before the all star break

“He/Zion” wishes to participate in the all star game.

How about wishing to play in some games for the Pelicans?

It’s probably splitting hairs here and maybe Scoop B didn’t word his tweet correctly, but it doesn’t sound great

And it’s pretty vague as usual. And the fanbase is on the edge a bit at the moment for decent reason.

PS- As good as Ingram looked in that 2nd Q, we appear to have really lost our competitive juice and zest overall. We don’t really compete defensively as a unit anymore tbh.

I think you and most people are far off on that thought process.

You would’ve hated Embiid 4 years in

Zion should not play at the all-star game. We can't risk a freak accident or aggravating his hamstring. If he has to sit out another month or 2, we're doomed.

The replies in this thread are funny so many times I hear on here our training staff are soft they take to many precautions. But now people don't want Zion to play in a game that is less intense then our shoot around.

I knew this was good news when Zion was named a starter because he would push the team to come back early if his scans come back clean.
