yea, the 1 other part I didn't mention...

if he wanted to leave, he would have had to play 1 more season(next season) on a 1 year qualifying offer before he could finally leave.

That's probably just as big of a reason, if not bigger, to sign the early extension than the extra money on the max.

We can’t seem to have nice things in New Orleans. Ms. Benson needs to hire some managers who can clean this shite smell that are the Pelicans.

Do the medical, training and nutrition staffs all need to be axed?
Why are the Pelicans and Saints consistently suffering with walking wounded players for the last 4 years?

This must be part of he and step daddy’s plan to get shipped out. Appear completely disgruntled and disinterested in playing that they have no choice but to trade you. He’s completely useless to this franchise now.

I sure wish the new CBA addressed this behavior.

Publicly request a trade (or Kyrie your way out of somewhere) - 50% compensation cut for the remainder of the contract. That money goes back to the trading away team's cap.

Or put the penalty on the receiving team. Regular trade compensation + the trading team gets your first round picks for however long the traded player stays on your roster.

Make it so onerous that the behavior stops.

Problem is, guys never publicly requests trades. AD is the only one who did it and he was fined.

Completely agree. Zion's behavior the last month of the season has been off-putting, but to do that 2 days before that abomination of an interview was icing on a shite cake.

Because he is overweight. Force = MASS x acceleration.

Even if he lost no strength at all (unlikely), a 10% increase in weight means 10% decrease in acceleration (aka explosion).

Trade the Fat, Useless F while you can still get something for him!

Right so if he’s overweight and this clearly not able to play then the dunks don’t mean anything and aren’t really an FU to anyone

That fat frick couldn’t give us 8 minutes off the bench. Those 8 minutes and we’d still be playing.

...Zion is the perfect example of the type individual who is VERY susceptible to falling under the influence of his own "Uncle Dennis". There are many cases of this in the NBA...some well known...some pretty much unknown. Can be a good thing or a bad thing. But either way, it's definitely...a "thing". Ask Popovich.

You think that's bad? Just wait until he demands a trade. Which I 100% guarantee he will. Let the downvotes rain down but you all know it's gonna happen.

I hope an adult is working with him today so he's able to play 30 minutes day1 of summer league. a few great games vs rookies and free agents and BOOM! the haul happens.

I really don't think Zion has an issue with the city or his teammates.

I think it's a battle between his camp and Griffin.
I think this is close. I think he is frustrated that they will not clear him medically and he does those moves to show that he thinks he is ready to be cleared.

The reason Zion wasn’t cleared is because Zion said he wasn’t feeling right. Our medical staff didn’t hold him back, Zion held himself out
