There simply isn't a timeline in the Pelicans' future with Zion on the roster that leads to championship contention.

I’ve been as disappointed as anyone about Zion’s injuries but holy shite he was destroying Wemby yesterday lmao. He’s just too fricking strong and quick that he makes the best defender in the league look bad.

There was one if Griff picked Maxey instead of Kira, traded up to get Sengun instead of letting our division rival with less assets do so, didn't waste a pick on D Graham, sold higher on Lonzo, etc

A lot of people on here wanted Maxey
A lot of people on here wanted to move up in the the late 1st round and get Bane as well.

Yup, and I believe we drafted RJ Hampton for a team, instead of Bane, as some kind of weird mechanism in the Steven Adams trade.
We had a stacked deck at one point until Griff withered it away and Dumars executed the final kill shot.
Not even to mention, the sell high/medium chances we had on Zion.

We gave up a first for Steven Adams when we first drafted him to give him protection. How sad would it be to ship him off for the same exact thing years later?

It’s the on going trap … when Zion is playing good to great everyone wants to keep him … than we he inevitably gets hurt everyone wants to trade him …. If you’re going to trade him you have to at peak value …. I don’t care but it goes without saying trading Zion at peak value means he can continue that level of play at another team … but no team is going to trade for Zion or give up any solid assets if that is not a possibility. Regardless I don’t think he is going anywhere

I just want to point out a play last night, since this thread is about Zion playing with energy.
Zion missed a short jumper in the lane with about 7 minutes left, we are down 8. He jogs it back on defense, like he always does, and then you see Dieng come flying down the court past Zion and receives the pass and then kicks it out to a wide open Dort for 3. He missed the 3, but they got the rebound and SGA got an easy 2.
I rewinded it when it happened to show my kids how not to play basketball.
This happens multiple times, every, single, game.
He's lazy. Always has been. Always will be.
I honestly think he simply can't sprint without being completely winded right after, like a fat 40 year old like myself, so he just jogs and walks all the time and very occasionally runs at like 75%, like a fat 40 year old like myself.

He doesnt run. He doesnt work out to build endurance. He took a weight loss drug and lost muscle mass. Maybe he finally got some of it back, but his endurance is shite

Is this actually true?
If so, our entire training staff needs to be fired for allowing that to happen.

Well it took like 44 years for the Saints to win a championship. So I would say 20 more years at least. Also need a long term commitment to the city . So far they are mum about this.

Mega speculation, but not unwarranted. Dude looked different fast from the offseason photos I saw
He was noticeably weaker on the court to start the season.

Gotta love Zion being a good vet there and telling him we gotta let it go. We've got some tanking to do bro, let's focus up on the next game where we will lose again. Pretty sure they gave up their draft pick for Derik Queen and gave an unprotected first for next year so I don't really know what they're tanking for but I digress. Moments like this is why we watch the NBA regular season every night.

I would be fine giving him to Atlanta to cancel our previous trade deal for the unprotected pick.

This… get that pick back and send him to the East

They aren't trading that pick to anyone except Milwaukee, for Giannis.
And Milwaukee should very much want to recoup their picks back if they are trading Giannis.
