He is completely baffled to say the least. Starts around 3 minutes in.

"the price of the trade is one of the most insane prices I have seen in a long time"

Astutely says that Bryson Graham knew exactly how to hoodwink us

I just want to say again, the Grizzlies traded a 2028 unprotected Magic first, and two seconds to move up only five spots. So they traded more for less. The true national difference is they all think the Pelican suck.

The pick is several years out and the Magic are good and will likely be good for a few years.

The Pelicans were TRASH last year and no one expects them to be good next year.

They gave up next year's pick, not the 2028 pick, and it gives them 2 opps, us AND the Bucks.

I think that trade set the bar. Unfortunately that was a disposable pick for Memphis while it could have been an important one for us.

Zach Lowe is my favorite member of the NBA media because he doesn't say clickbait-ey things for the purposes of clicks. I respect his opinion. He can join the list of media types who are crushing us.

I hated the trade, but I'm not going to get me down. I am excited to see how Queen turns out.

Kinda all you can do at this point. It happened, its over.

Hopefully the players turn out to be good

The NBA continues to be the absolute worst league when it comes to how the media covers it.

In the NFL Draft, the media focuses on the players drafted and whether or not a particular player was a reach or not at a given position and/or for the price cost at trade. The focus is on the player and his potential ability.

In the NBA Draft, the media focuses on what some ping pong balls may do a year from now and how a 5-15% chance of something happening with those balls warrants shutting down all trade possibilities when there is a player you want available. The actual skills of the player involved are not discussed or discussed very little compared to ping pong.

Because draft picks in the nba are significantly more valuable than in the nfl. The NBA is a league of value and how much value you possess to get better or remain elite.

They were .500 last year. They've had 1 winning season in the last 6 years.

If our trade was as bad as everyone is claiming, that one is right there with it.

It’s really not the same at all. Magic have a young core improving who will get Suggs back. Now they have a very durable bane that fits that team perfectly. They WILL be better.

Bucks are running on fumes. No dame next year and the supporting cast around 31 year old Giannis is garbage. And we still aren’t sure he’s gonna play for the bucks next year. That team is one Giannis injury away from being the worst team in the league.

honestly that’s wasn’t so bad. Tate is very high on queen and they all like fears. We may as well stop crying about the pick because it’s gone…

this time next year will be interesting to say the least

So if the picks turns out to be 15. Would be still be mad?

If it is than it wouldn’t have mattered if it were top 10 protected or not.

here is the only way to look at it that makes sense…that joe Dumars believes that derik queen is as good or better than anyone he realistically could have gotten in next years draft

Give it time! I mean the media is fickle! Three months ago, they were calling for Nico’s head and the Luka trade was the worse in NBA history. Now, you don’t hear anything about it.

if it’s outside the top 6 I can feel better about it and not melt. Especially if Queen plays well.

If Queen turns into a solid piece of this team the price will be forgotten. If he busts then it will just be twisting the knife. Good on Graham fricking the Pels on his way out. It’s a dog eat dog business and he fleeced Joe on the price. We look very amateurish right now and deservedly so. We could have offered 23 and a 2029 1st and Graham would have gladly taken that deal because he nets a positive asset while still getting a late-mid 1st this year. I’m not as angry as most are about it because we have now chosen our fate which hangs on Zion and Trey with a solid, young supporting group. This team can be a winner as constructed but people have to be healthy, in shape and bought in to the system or it’s doomed to fail from the start. The talent is there though.

Well yea, the magic are loaded and added Bane.

This, that was our last great asset from our war chest.

We traded DD, Ingram, and three first picks, two being totally unprotected, with a result that yielded Murray and a move up ten spots.

The only reason is because they had a better chance of getting struck by lighting than winning the lotto but somehow managed to win it.

That’s the only reason.

We will always love and appreciate Zach for trying to get "Pellies" to stick over the less fun "Pels" nickname
