Rather us just trade with Portland. Brogdon as the 6th man (in which he excels at) and Ayton.

Hate that.

There will be something better out there.

Are they just catching up? I feel like it's been known that trey has to start next year.

Yeah pretty much. I think these play-in and playoff games on national tv have exposed a lot more people to Trey.

Nah griff doesn’t have the balls. If I had to guess what happens, we give BI a big extension, and can’t agree to an extension with Trey cuz we’re being cheap. We run it back next year and then lose Trey in RFA by being cheap

No way is he losing his value pick trey Murphy.

If a gm views Ingram as his guy it won't matter. It just takes one gm. I do think the pels have to chop Ingram up into smaller pieces.

Yeah it does but his value right now is low when hes struggling in the playoffs. And again the guy has done nothing from a progression standpoint this year and he was pretty healthy- but again missed a good bit with another injury. Even if a gm wants him no one will overpay for no reason.

Just curious what do you mean chop Ingram into smaller pieces?

Tyus Jones is pretty good imo but he makes around $15/yr.

Trade BI for Jarrett Allen and whatever else.

Bring back JV and Naji.

1) why would Cleveland do this?
2) why would you resign JV if you just traded for Allen?
3) what does Naji have to do with a BI trade?

Lakers don’t have a true center, they play AD there.

We're still acting like Davis is a 4?

If Cleveland trades Spyder, might view BI as a replacement to some of those points.

I know everyone wants to move on from JV. But I would love to have him as a 2nd center. Seems like he could be a consistent go to scorer down low against backups.

Naji would be Treys main backup once BI is gone.

I’d hope we could get more since BI was the main piece of the AD trade, but at this point, I’d take the best offer that makes team better, before giving him the max.

If we don’t move off Ingram this offseason this franchise is doomed.

Cleveland has to decide (this offseason most likely) if they want to go forward with Allen or Mobley. The 2 can't co-exist

I agree this would be silly unless he took a huge pay cut.

It doesn't work with 2, but if we let JV go we have room to bump up Naji. Now if we want to do that is another story.

I've defended Naji as incredible value, but that calculation changes when he's not making peanuts.

Crazy take, but I'd like us to move on from our current big 3 and build around Jones/Murphy. I wouldn't mind a slight step back while reloading our coffers and extending our window.

Zion had a great year and I love the way he is trending. But he's hurt again and missing crucial games. He's just not dependable and I don't see that changing..

Yep. Same for Jose.

No one’s bitches when the undrafted guy making under $2M has a bad game.
People will bitch if the 4th year guy making $8M is shooting 32% from 3 after the first 10 games of the season.

$12M?
Nah
Not the full MLE, which will be just under $13M

$7-8M seems like a good number for both Jose and Naji.

Payton Pritchard just signed a 4/$30M. That’s what a good backup player is worth, and that’s what both Naji and Jose are. They aren’t 6th man territory, just a good backup role player.

That 16M could go towards a real good back up big.

My problem has never been with the players, its been with the money. You have Hawk and Dyson under cost control.

There’s lots to happen this offseason.
I have a feeling the goal will be to move BI and save money in the process so we can have a better center and backup center, if only for just a year. Getting Lauri for BI accomplishes that, on top of Trey taking BIs place.

Losing Ingram is addition by subtraction. Even not adding any talent makes the team upgraded when we have a heathy Zion.

Now when Zion is out, that's a different story.

I think Naji is going to be more than we would think.

He could be a decent producer on a shitty team, and his attitude and versatility works (off the bench, obviously) on good-great teams.

Naji's problem is that he's not great in anything except maybe on-ball D. He's good-solid across the board, though. He's a jack of all trades who can help a lot on D, has grit/attitude/energy, can handle a little, will pass, etc.

You put Naji on a team like Boston or Denver in their 2nd unit and he's going to get national publicity as a bench/role guy. Not 6th man of the year hype, but like what we thought we were getting when we signed James Posey (the final piece).

Im swinging for the fences.

The only holdup is if ATL is truly ready to shed salary and trade Trae too. Im giving them 3 FRPs to rebuild too.

I would then pivot to signing one of the following:

Claxton
Hartenstien
Wiseman

Your 2024-25 Pelicans:

Allen
Zion
Trey
Herb
Murray

Jose (TO)
CJ
Hawk
Dyson @ PF
Center off of list
