Yeah national media is really giving deserved props from last night to Trey. This will put a lot of pressure on Griffin because we all see the solution here- question is will Griffin pull the trigger and move BI?

Tim Bontemps on Windy's podcast had similar comments. We've been saying it our self all year without really completing the thought - if Trey starts, who doesn't? Presumably Zion/Herb/Center will keep starting. That means benching or trading one of Ingram or CJ.

I don’t agree with this but you wonder if Griffin solution is to keep BI but talk to CJ and make him buy into a bench role.

The Pels need to just go full small ball with Z and fricking run teams off the court, especially if Trey can just wake up and play defense now.

In a world where Zion and Trey play defense at a plus level, CJ/Ingram/Herb/Zion/Trey can run teams off the court, and you can always have a solid center ready to come off the bench if you need more size.

CJ would be an amazing 6th man imo. It’s obviously not going to happen and he’s way too expensive for this to even happen.

Correct, but inserting Trey and trading CJ does nothing to help the 3pt shooting of the starting lineup.

It's Ingram, it was always Ingram.

That gives you Zion with CJ & Trey in the starting lineup. There will be no lack of 3s going up.

I agree this is the problem. But do you think Griff actually trades him? His value isn’t great right now especially with how hes playing in the playoffs. Nor did BI do anything this season to increase his value- no all star or all nba team. And we all know his affinity for BI as well. I mean there were reports he offered a contract to BI last summer and BI declined. Unless Griffin gets blown away, I just cant see him trading BI.

Not long, several days. You use the < > button beneath the image button and paste the Twitter or YouTube URL.

He took a financial bath cutting Stan after one year. I don't think poor value on BI would keep Griff from trading BI if he truly thought BI was holding back the team. The question is, will Griff's optimism bias neutralize his lack of sunk cost bias?

Lets be honest he chose BI over Stan. And yes I think his optimism bias will win out.

CJ can't bring it every night anymore. He would make the perfect sixth man, but his status and ballooning salary won't justify it.

We need a table-setting point guard. We do. But if that isn't an option going into next season, then the combo of Herb, Trey, and BI is really big and long.

Would you be interested in this trade:

Nets get BI
Thunder get JV in a S&T as well as a Nets 1st.
Magic get Josh Giddy.
Pels get Cam Johnson, Day'Ron Sharpe, Jonathon Isaac, and 2 Nets 1st.

We keep Larry, so we have Sharpe, Larry, Isaac at the 5.
Cam will come off the bench, but he'll play 30 minutes a night more than likely, and the intention is to get that small ball lineup of
CJ/Herb/Trey/Cam/Zion.

I like this trade for us. But I doubt the magic would exchange Isaac for Giddey. They really like Isaac.

Also not sure how I feel about JV going to Thunder lol

Rather us just trade with Portland. Brogdon as the 6th man (in which he excels at) and Ayton.

I don’t see Thunder nor Brooklyn doing this

OKC doesn’t need a center, they for sure don’t need more draft picks, and they have no reason to trade Giddey, he fits pretty well with them as constructed.

Brooklyn wants a player better than Bridges, BI doesn’t fit that, and if I will be honest, BI is not much better than Cam Johnson.

Now if Brooklyn called and wanted BI I would do BI for Cam and a S&T of Claxton, wouldn’t need any picks.

Bro they need a center- they just gave up 20 rebounds to JV and Giddey has been a weak link in their starting lineup for the whole season. He just goes off on us for some reason.

They have the perfect center for the future in Chet

That’s literally how the league is going.

And Giddey not needing shots nor the ball in his hands is perfect for OKC because they can run the offense they want which is SGA centric. Now can they upgrade Giddey? Sure, but JV is not that upgrade, and they have plenty of picks to get anyone they want to upgrade that spot, plus they have bene pretty good at drafting

Nah griff doesn’t have the balls. If I had to guess what happens, we give BI a big extension, and can’t agree to an extension with Trey cuz we’re being cheap. We run it back next year and then lose Trey in RFA by being cheap again
