Straight up. Walk me through pro's and cons.

Frank Jackson/Ian Clark/Darius Miller can help fill Moore's role.

Pro - Guy on rookie contract that is an elite passer and underrated defender (even by me). Would fair well in this system as long as there are shooters around him.

Cons - His dad. His immaturity off the court (see the interactions with Kuzma, etc. this offseason). Would be dumping arguably your best shooter outside AD & Niko. Ball is sub par shooter, so with Hill in the lineup it's basically 5 on 3. The Lakers wouldn't take that deal straight up, so a pick would need to be included which should be saved for a larger move for a wing either now or at the deadline (now is better because of the perception of other teams).

So, the answer is no, I wouldn't do it.

Yes. People like to hate on the kid because of his dad, but he had a good rookie season minus the shooting of course.

Yes. Ball just finished his first year of a rookie contract. He shot very poorly, but still had a positive team impact with surprisingly good defense and the ability to get teammates open looks.

Etwaun is limited and has reached his peak as a good, but undersized role player.

Lakers have a lot going against there leverage:
1) not many suitors due to zo's dad
2) possible knee situation leaked
3) zo's rookie year was ok but nothing wowzers
4) teams know lakers may want/need to get rid of lonzo to win now and put veteran now talent around lebron.
5) Moore has a shorter contract, may be extremely tradable for lakers next offseason if needed.

Those are good points, Chad, but I still don't think they take the deal straight up. Just my opinion.

You’re assuming the Lakers have to trade him now, and Magic said rebuilding the Lakers would be a 2 year process.

If Lonzo is moved, the Lakers are getting back someone a lot better than Moore.

Not sure. Lonzo alone....

Lakers get to keep Hart, Kuzma, and Ingram. Moore shot .425% from 3 land. Instant grits for Lebron to pass to.

I imagine he’d be part of a package, but the Lakers aren’t that down on him that they’d sell low on him for someone like E’Twaun Moore.

No. Moore off the bench will be great for the depth. I don't fault him for having to play the 3 last year and struggling some. He may be making a little more than he's worth, but he has shown he can score efficiently at times which would be nice off the bench.

I don't care about Lavar Ball, what does concern me is that Lonzo can't shoot to save his life. He is like Rondo but without the positives that masked Rondo's deficiencies.

No one is trading the #2 pick from the year before for a fairly paid 28 yr old role player.

uh....no one has any clue what Jackson can do and Clark/Miller are decidedly not better than Moore. though that says (sorry) more about them than it does about Moore. easy to shite on, but being a good, dependable NBA rotation player is valuable, especially for this franchise. if only he were about 3 inches taller....

that said, i trade Moore for Lonzo every single time. he's younger, maybe a little bit better already, and you get team control for a while.

Yeah I would. Dude is young as hell and will be a good NBA player. Lakers would laugh if we offered them that.

If the Lakers aren’t getting more than Moore back in a trade it’s because they used him to dump Deng. If for some crazy reason Magic calls Dell up and says “Lavar just parked in my space for the last time Dell. You can have Lonzo for E’Tuwan if you take Lavar too. “ you take the deal and use Lonzo to dump Hill for a 1st.

Not that the Lakers would ever do it, but in this hypothetical yes you absolutely do it. You worry about the outcome later.
