Would Ingram be a center piece of the Markkanen interest from Pels?

NBA trades are too confusing and all the cap implications. Would Ingram leaving be a necessary part of that trade interest?

I love the idea of Markkanen
I HATE the idea of Trey spending another year on the bench because I think he can be better than Markkanen but there’s no way he could start if we got Lauri unless Herb moves to the bench, which also won’t happen

We could from a salary perspective but that means moving on from other pieces like Herb, Trey, and Hawkins.
Lauri makes about $18m. BI makes about $34m. Best plan for us is to move BI for assets Utah wants, get Lauri and Kessler along with a $16m TPE (Kessler fits into the Kira TPE).

If Markkanen was a center, he'd be the first player I'd target. But he's a 3/4, and I don't think he'd fit here as well as others do.

I really don't get it. We already have our version of Lauri. Lauri is simply the player that we hope Trey turns out to be in another year or two. Lauri is either catch-and-shoot, or he's catch-and-drive.

I kind of agree. We need a rim protector and a backup PF with grit. He's neither of those.

Trey is 6’8 and barely over 200. Lauri is 7’0 and 240. Physically Lauri is a bigger version of Trey who because of his measurements has a better ability to play center.

add lauri and drop ingram and you got trey and markkanen out there with all of our other pieces, i think we feast offensively with point zion.

If it's true Minnesota was also in talks for Lauri then it would have to be KAT included...

I mean that’s pretty much exactly what I was saying in my post. I love the idea of Markkanen because he’s what I want Trey to be, but I would prefer if we let Trey get run and focused elsewhere

Trey is a legit 6’10” and possibly 6’11”
And he’s around 220 now
I’m not saying Lauri isn’t bigger because he is

It seems to check out when you see him next to people. He’s taller than both Paul George (listed 6’8”) and LeBron (Listed 6’9”)

I’m going by all of the coaches, his father, and himself, who all said that after being listed 6’8” his rookie year he had a growth spurt and is now above 6’10”
