I don’t believe it. Why would we “hope” Brooklyn let us talk to Kevin Durant? Nets are going to let KD talk to anyone who have a treasure chest like ours.

Agreed. Seeing how he went to two well ran organizations and wanting to leave doesn’t sit well with me. The risk is too high for a 34 year old player. Plus the guy has been injury prone the last couple of years

I’d like to keep what we got but if we trade anyone I’d prefer Zion. If Willie and KD are on the same page being they have history together and we can get KD for 4 years i understand the move. Everyone on this board was/is worried about the health of Zion and what his future holds.

I guess we just have to wait and see what shakes out and hope for the best sons

I feel like Green could hold KD accountable and make him a better person in locker room. Only trade however that I'd do would be without CJ BI Zion and Herb

I agree with you. Just don’t think the Nets trade him unless Zion or BI go back in return. Guess we just gotta wait it out and see what happens

I don't think what Windbag said about trying to have Green meet KD to convince him to play here would be true if Green didn't know KD is not a problem child.

The Nets situation was dysfunctional, which should surprise no one since Kyrie was involved. KD should have known better. Of course, LeBron should have known better not to want Westbrook on the Lakers. Players should not be GMs.

This confirms my speculation in the other thread. The Zion for Durant trade is basically done, as long as Durant buys in. This is why the Zion extension was put on hold.

I’ll assume you are joking around.

I really don’t want KD under like 99 of the 100 circumstances it would probably take to get him here...

I really don’t feel great about this pursuit.

Bronc and others have brought up some great points regarding this type of pursuit potentially damaging front office and Green’s relationships with our current players.

I really hope we are just playing chicken and trying to drive the price up of our rivals. But I fear that’s not the case.

If Griff fricks up the chemistry of this locker room and the goodwill of Zion/BI/CJ toward this city chasing this motherfricker, I’ll fricking melt more than I ever have on this site.

I kind of want to watch the world burn JUST to see this melt

If we put his extension on hold and he knows we're trying to move him and talks stall, what does that do to the Zion/FO relationship?

I mean we'd be trying to move him for Kevin Durant. Not exactly an insult and would likely be seen as an honor.

If you could promise me a healthy Zion for the next 4 years, I’d do anything I could to get Durant.

I will say this. We always talk about how Zion is going to create so much gravity all we need is shooters.

If that shooter is Kevin Durant...

Remember, this stuff usually leaks to benefit someone, not because they are trying to inform the public of the actual play by play of events. I'd say this is aimed at pressuring Phoenix to put more in.

I agree with this.

If KD was even considering coming here, we wouldn't be hearing leaks like this. It would either be nothing or a completely different report.

This is KD leaking to get PHO to pay up

CBS Sports

“According to The Athletic, Durant would only want to play for the Heat if he could do so alongside Jimmy Butler, Bam Adebayo and Kyle Lowry.“

If true that makes a Miami trade hard to imagine.

I’m also hearing from my sources that Durant is only interested in playing in New Orleans if the city can be moved to Southern California.

I think a lot of people are forgetting something. It really doesn’t matter what the frick kd wants

If Durant comes in motivated (which I think he is with GSW winning without him) and healthy (big if), he makes you an instant title contender.

I think Ingram and Zion have to be off the table though. I could talk myself into a package centered around CJ and picks.

But there are a lot of ways where we can really frick this up to where I'm not sure it's worth trying.

Except it does. Nobody is going to give up the assets that it will take to get KD if he doesn’t want to go there. A player who hates where he’s at becomes toxic.

Yeah it kinda does, because he can very easily become a malcontent and then all of the sudden we got a $44million DNP.

Not that I’d want this , but if there is a trade for kd it would involve Ingram because of how similar they are

He’s signed for 4 years wherever he goes and the nets don’t care where he goes , they will want the best deal possible. I’m saying the nets don’t care
