I did like this part of the article:

quote:

Even with the recent resurgence, expect the Pelicans to be involved in more — not fewer — trade rumors between now and the deadline.

Let’s trade Ball now before he comes back down to earth.

they'd need to trade him in the next 2.5 hours for that to be the case. seems unlikely

I feel like we are in a lose lose with Ball.

If he plays great we won’t be able to resign him. Rich Paul isn’t going to let that happen.

If he plays like crap again we can’t move him.

At this point, I don't think that there's any way that we're keeping him. If you read between the lines, I think that Griffin and SVG have all but said as much.

The team needs a true PG, and we drafted one in Kira. Lonzo is just in the way. It makes too much sense to move him.

Of course, we have to take some salary back, but I wonder what Lonzo's worth would be as a pure draft pick. This is just me spitballing, but I would guess that his current value, assuming that a handshake deal on an extension could be reached with the trade partner, is somewhere around the middle of the 1st round.

The downgrade would be defensively really huge...Trade Eric instead of Lonzo would be the best choice.
Just avoid to overpay Lonzo but Rich Paul is his agent...

There seems to be a consensus that Bledsoe would have more value in the offseason, when he'd be an expiring.

Man, trade Zo ASAP. I’m happy he played well. I hope he continues to do so. Move his arse and move on.

There would be need picks involved but here is an idea of a trade that may be enticing...Kings may be the hardest sell but I don't know, maybe not.

Pels get Harrison Barnes

Kings get Otto Porter & Hayes

Celtics get JJ & Bjelica

Bulls get Lonzo

I don't know, again, if this is enough value but I think I like the base. Thoughts?

"Good pairing" except that I didn't see a single scenario that would help the Pels.

You're very seriously overvalued Barnes, unless you have a couple unprotected 1sts coming the Pels way

The New York Knicks have reached agreement on a trade to acquire Detroit Pistons guard Derrick Rose and reunite him with coach Tom Thibodeau, sources told ESPN on Sunday.

The Knicks are sending guard Dennis Smith Jr. and a 2021 second-round draft pick via the Charlotte Hornets to Detroit, sources said.

I think this is the interesting tidbit. The Pistons played nice and sent him where he wanted it sounded like, and all they got back was a reclamation project and a 2nd round pick, so that pretty much clears up what JJ's worth is, and it sure as hell isn't a late 1st.

quote:

The Knicks are undergoing a competitive uptick under Thibodeau in his first season as coach, emerging as the No. 6-rated defensive team in the NBA (107.9 points per 100). The arrival of Rose brings help for the NBA's 25th-rated offensive team (scoring 106.9 points per 100 possessions) and creates an overlap of veteran guards, including starter Elfrid Payton and Austin Rivers.

Rivers is likely to become a player whom contenders seek in trade talks as teams look to fortify backcourts closer to the March 25 trade deadline.

quote:

The Pistons are moving toward a rebuild and worked to find Rose a destination that had appeal to him. Rose, 32, has averaged 14 points and four assists on 42% shooting this season. He is in the final year of a contract that pays him $7.7 million and will become a free agent in the offseason.

Not sure that Rose's value has anything to do with Redick. Redick has an elite skill that contenders look for in a playoff run. However, I agree that narrowing the destinations to those of his choosing will hurt his value.
