Hayes should still get some playing time. He just needs to be inserted when the match up dictates it.

He wasn't really even supposed to get minutes last season.

His ceiling is high but his floor is so damn low.

He feels to me like rich man's Chieck Diallo

Solid backup center.

They REALLY dont trust Jaxson

Not sure that’s the case but at the same time most of us when we drafted Hayes thought he was 2 seasons away from really being able to just start being a meaningful contributor.

Guy is still incredibly raw, needs to continue bulking up, and ideally has a lot of basic skills he needs to work on and refine.

Yes I know. We talked about him yesterday as a cheap steal for us.

said no one ever that drafts a guy in the top 10. You don't need to expect him to start, but when you pick someone in the top 10, you expect them to get minutes and develop. No you shouldn't be relying on them to be a major contributor, unless they turn into one, but all top 10 picks have an expectation to get minutes on their team, and not play in the G-League.

FYI Hornets fans say he has a ton of potential offensively. And is pretty poor defensively.

Hayes is making 5M a year. He doesn't have to start or play major minutes. But he should be contributing and focused on something. Even as an energy guy that comes in and blocks shots. This is a big year for him to take a step forward. He needs to start making noticeable improvements..
