When did basketball become such a dangerous game? You would think these guys were ground units in combat by the amount of injuries they sustain

fricking a man. I just wish they'd let B.I. fricking talk about it and admit that

a) somethings not right and he doesn't know why

B) they think it needs to be scoped but b.i. wants to rest it

Just shitty info as usual for the Pels

You’re projecting. None of us can really know the details, but I’ll take them at their word about knee soreness. They’re being careful. We want him healthy and on the court.

I'd just like to know for certain if this was a case of him being legitimately injured, or just a huge pussy and can't deal with a little pain.

No idea why people were against trading him before last year’s draft

Because they literally don’t know.

This tells me the doctors have cleared him, training staff has cleared him, but same as last year he will play when he feels like it.

I hope they play him a game and then trade his fricking arse

Did y'all all miss where the team said that it's tendonitis in BI's knee? If you have ever had tendonitis (like "tennis elbow"), you know that the inflammation doesn't go down without resting it.

Some of the doomposting in here is mind-blowing. Tendonitis takes a week, or two at the most, to recover from. BI will be back on the court soon, probably tomorrow.

The issue is that tendinitis, or tendinopathy, is visible on MRI. The team initially came came out and said there was no issues identified in his MRI. If tendinitis was visible in the MRI they would know exactly what tendon was involved and how long he should be out.

In other words, BI should not miss multiple games after an MRI that shows no diagnosable issues. So we either have a case of the team blowing it and lying with their messaging or BI is slow playing a recovery from a non diagnosable injury with the gold standard of imaging.

Well, it used to be....now it's a business decision not to play with a hangnail. Or to run out of bounds or pull up from contact in football or half arse it down the line to first....or....just sit out.

As a Cub fan I saw it with Kris Bryant. Dude started getting a lot of injuries many of which IMHO folks have played with for years. When his stats would suffer he'd shut it down and would not play unless he was 100%. Still doing that with the Rockies - played less than half his teams games the last 2 years but is still getting paid.

Tendonitis can last for a week or two, multiple weeks, multiple months, or even up to a year. We all know how the softest player in the league heals, so you know it’s going to be the multiple weeks/months timeline, and frankly I’m not convinced its tendonitis and I believe the team is just trying to cover for his bitchness.

I believe they said there was nothing structural, which would be true.

In the 80's, they would fricking closeline you if you came in the lane and it was a common foul. No one missed time for that.

It’s frustrating, but I’m not sure what Willie, Griff or anyone can do but give BI the chance to heal. I
have no legit reason to think that
BI is a malingerer.

I'm fine with trading him but didn't want to for Scoot. I think there's better trade options available.

If you want to make the case for trading BI, it's not hard.

We already have his replacement in house.
He plays an inefficient style.
He's injury prone and soft as frick.

I'd be absolutely fine moving on. Just don't know what we could get for him.

They also played at a snail’s pace, never took threes, and centers were dominant. Its a much much different league.

I agree with this, but what would a realistic trade look like that helps us win right now?

Yea I'd only want to move him for win now pieces.

Like Scoot for example, it's only 5 games so the book isn't written on him, but it does seem clear this dude is going to need a lot of time, when many said his game should translate well to come in and be decent right away. But this is exactly why I didn't want to go to a rookie, as he would have completed killed this team for this year, and who knows if he'll be ready to be a net positive by even next year.

Scoot just isn't tracking to be on the timeline for this team that is ready to win now, so I don't know who else we'd trade for.

No, they said no structural damage. Tendonitis is not structural damage.
