Theoretically the Bulls can tank badly enough to keep their pick for several years but it is touchy.
Detroit has been awful the past few seasons and keeps ending up at 5th. Making it to 8 or under may not be possible between Detroit, Washington, and Charlotte in the East alone.

Chicago should probably tank, but they aren't going to tank.

If they find someone to take on Lavine, they could do it.
Vuc is the only other bad multi-year contract while Caruso is worth an asset if they pick up his option and flip him.
Lonzo eating $20m while his contract expires would help with this because it lets them make payroll and not put people on the court without having to give up assets in any way.

They sell out almost all their games and even if they’re just play-in competitive its to their benefit.
From a basketball standpoint they should tank and rebuild.
From a business and selling tickets standpoint they shouldn’t.

Either Mobley or Allen is getting dealt this year. They cannot coexist.
They aren't trading Mobley imo.

Allen's value tanking to like a 2nd or protected 1st way in the future (which is possible). Will CLE just give Allen away for nothing?
Allen's value would never tank like that

Yea, it is 100% not possible that Allen's value tanks to that this offseason.
SFP is putting wayyyyyyyy too much stock in the "Mobley/Allen can't coexist so 1 has to be traded, and other teams know that so value will be suppressed."
Sure, maybe somewhat, but Allen going for a 2nd is just being way far off and not having any logical understanding of his value.

Yes there is no reason to keep CJ with Trae on board. Maybe he could be used to get Allen from the Cavs if they trade Spyder. I’m sure we’d have to kick in some additional assets. But this is the way to go.
If you can get Trae and Allen this offseason would have to be considered a success.

Moving BI for us isnt just about fit, its also about cutting salary to pay Trey. I don’t know how turning BI into Young and then turning around and paying Young $40million+ a year helps that. Atlanta also wants to cut salary. I’m not sure how both teams accomplish that.
I think it's going to probably have to be a 3 team trade.
Trading bi isn't going to be perfect. Just have to hope the pieces fir better and you save some money for the future.

I don't view White as a realistic option.
oh, neither do i... i was just commenting on the fact that White would be the best option of the options presented by the OP

That's just not a team where a potential BI deal is viable for White, I just don't see the path.
I put together a trade that netted us both White and Vucevic (who combined make less than Ingram). It kept us under the tax and we kept most of your toung talent, except Daniels. Everybody thought I gave away too much..

You gave away 4 or 5 first round picks. I like how you forgot to mention that. Come on dude.

I did not.
Out was Ingram, 2 1st (2025 and 2027), Nance and Daniels.
In was White, Vucevic and Reed.
We keep our pick this year and the Lakers next year. We have money to resign Murphy, plus an exception (10M+) for a role player. All while not being a tax team.
It's the most realistic and effective trade anyone has suggested in all of these threads, no offense..

Bad trade for us. You’ve suggested Vucevic a few times on here. I’m not sure if you’ve been keeping up with him in Chicago but that guy is horrible now. It would take a pick for CHI to get off his contract at this point.

I can't stand Ingram and I'd rather keep him than that trash trade. Why are we giving up Dyson and picks too for garbage like vuc?

Some of these idiots will say you need to give up a Mitchell type package for Coby fricking White

I’m not the one you need to convince of that.
I would send BI to Chicago for the package proposed, but I need picks back from Chicago.
The only BI + pick I would do with Chicago would be Ingram and Nance for White, Caruso and Vuc
Vuc is purely salary filler in that, and pick would have to be top 8 protected

BI will make $80mil ish the next 2 seasons.
Coby White - $24 mil

White is also ascending. Ingram has plateued, if not started to decline.
It's like people can't project players. They want all finished products. Is it better to get a guy whose been an all-star or one who's going to become one?
Also, how is Vucevic trash? He played in over 70 games, over 34mpg, and put up 18/10. If I was petty, I would use the all-star add on to strengthen my point (like everyone does with Ingram)..

You’re predicting Coby White after one good season and 4 trashy ones to be an all star. I honestly think hes more Malik Monk. Probably sixth man of the year candidate, good player but I don’t think hes an all star. He literally has to be best player on the team to be an all star- I don’t see that happening.
