Other than mop up play every now and then, this guy's only contributions are cheering his team mates on and warming up the bench.
Isn't it time to unload him and use the money elsewhere?

No way they pick up the option this year.

Temple helped Zion stay healthy for 29 out of 173 games with helpful veteran tips and tricks.

So he’s pretty invaluable.

Yes. His value is nonexistent and honestly takes up a spot for a young player to develop.

Maybe veterans who contribute as an active part of the rotation. Garrett Temple just fills out the roster and pads his earnings at the tail end of a solid career.

They should be close enough to the tax line that a $5.5 million veteran leader is a luxury they can't afford. Temple's main use at this point is salary filler.

His option date is June 30th. If he's not traded on draft night as expiring salary and the team picks up his option for next year, the reason needs to be because they have an off season trade lined up they need his salary for.

He leads some locker room ‘hype dance’ before they head out to the court.

He's absolutely a locker room guy. Look for him to stay on the bench, even after he hangs up his uniform

No one buys tickets because Temple is on the Pelicans (other than maybe his family and friends).

Like Sixth Man of the Year candidate Udonis Haslem.

Tbh I think Temple would add much more value if he got technicals from the bench here and there and yelled at Zion in the lunch room to hold him accountable.

Haslem even yells at Jimmy B, Bam and Spo sometimes. We could use someone that has a 10th of Haslem’s fire in the locker room. No one is all that afraid of disappointing CJ Mccollum or Temple, bc they are nice guys at their core.

Dude has massive respect of players and the league. He is exactly what you want as a locker room vet.

You NEED a guy who is 10 years older to set a mature work culture for the team. Garrett is that guy. He is a coach on the court.

Resume:

CJ is President of NBA Players Union - Temple is a VP

Baton Rouge Native - Former LSU Player and legacy. His father was the first black man to play basketball for LSU same time as David Duke was marching around in Nazi uniform yelling white power.

Married a Miss USA who is also a Nuclear Scientist - respect

Smart and has a super high BB IQ and is a likely future NBA coach / possible future head coach.

Only dude who wears a suit to every game. And he bought suits for all his team mates when they said something about how fly he looks.

This is what you want and not a Memphis where the young stars apparently don't care what the vets think.
