Fears already has proven he is going to be a really good player in this league. It isn’t going to be easy to trade Dejounte unless he plays but Fears and Jose are both playing well. Then we have to decide if Zion and Queen are going to play together or if Zion gets traded.

Murray is going to get 15-20 minutes tops. He's taking Hawks minutes, and probably some of Jose's

Assuming we aren’t in anyway in contention, there is really zero incentive to push Murray. I hope they roll him out very slowly with the hopes of him being productive for us next season.

I think if Fears keep improving, they'll have to play Murray to show teams he's healthy and let Klutch look for a trade. Probably the best for everyone.it works out that way.

That injury is going to be tough to come back from considering the position and the way Murray plays. Fears is our guy now.

Dejounte Murray will come back from the i jury. He is a well known work ethic guy that I’m sure has been attacking his rehab. I have always liked Dejounte but Fears has kicked the door in and Queen isn't far behind. Bad trade by Dumars but at least he hit with both picks it seems.

He’s running full speed, cutting and dunking, I don’t think it will be that hard for him to come back.

I wouldn't worry about this. Other players get injured and Murray will be brought back slowly (off the bench in spurts for 20 or so games). We just need to showcase him for about 10 games at the end of the year. That way he'll have a market over the summer..

If he hit the pick then why is it a bad trade?

He essentially gave up what could be the top two picks in a loaded draft class.

It was a terrible trade.

Glad to have Queen, though

Yes it’s a bad trade no matter how you wanna spin it. In the moment it was horrible value wise. Still could be terrible unless Queen becomes a multi time all star.

Both of Poole/ Murray will be up for extension's soon. We will most likely need to pick 1 or trade both. I'd rather keep Murray and trade Poole. If we trade Z then we possibly trade both. You have to keep Murray until atleast next years mid season trade deadline to recoup value. DJ comes off the bench this year unless he looks that much better than Fears/ Poole. He should be that much better while healthy so we will see. But 20min off the bench this season until later in the year.

Bad in the sense that we paid more than we could have.

That said, I was once bought a high-end convertible and the sales guy later humble-bragged that I could have gotten it for a couple of thousand less.

I drove the car for 10 years, had almost no problems with it and later traded it in for good value.

Did I overpay? Probably. But I still got a great, fun car for a decade.

Because if it ends up being the top pick, the Pelicans missed out on a franchise player instead of a solid player

I’d extend neither. I don’t think either fit the team needs for their price tag and role. Jordan Poole has been a big bummer. He’s everything you wanted CJ to be talent-wise, but he’s got 1/3 the IQ.

Honestly with the intensity of his rehab I’m not counting out that he comes back with a chip on his shoulder and plays like an all star. Then we just figure it out and treat it as lagniappe.

A good team would look at this as a big opportunity to stretch the lead in the standings. Starter back and young rookie backing up him off the bench will little drop off and valuable experience early in his career.

Pelicans????

Idk I'd keep Murray and Fears together. That's a nasty duo to run the team and for a very good cost. If Murray looks good/ healthy back from injury and wants to be here then we can extend him for a slight discount since he's coming off a big injury. Murray is still arguably the best player on our team from an overall impact.

I'd trade Zion and Poole. Maybe decide on (1) of Herb/ Trey depending on roster construction after Z/ Poole trades and what we can get for either.

Keep Murray, extend Bey, build with Trey/ Fears/ Queen.

Trade Zion, Poole, Herb, Looney,

Dumars paid a corvette convertible price for a Mazda Miata convertible….

That’s great. It’s still likely the worst injury you can get in the nba. You’re just never really the same in that sport.
