Well IMO it depends on what Atlanta would want in a BI trade, as I don’t think they would want to keep Ingram.

Say Atlanta says instead of Ingram they would prefer a heavy draft pick package with a young player, we could then go to Philly and get Reed and their 4 tradeable 1sts.

Take Reed and 21 and send him to Cleveland for Allen, Cleveland saves a bunch of money and gets a backup center that’s on par with the best in the league.

Take Dyson and Nance and send to Atlanta for Trae with the 4 Philly 1st rounders.

Doing that we traded Ingram, Nance, Dyson and 21 for Trae and Allen and still keep all future tradeable 1sts.

Like I said though, would depend on what Atlanta is looking for in a deal

Atlanta could then send Murray back to San Antonio and get their own picks back and have a huge draft pick stash for a rebuild

Boston is the only top 5 team in playoff defense that’s left, and their run is largely contributed to facing teams that are severely weakened.

Dallas in the playoffs has the same defensive rating we had in the regular season, only 3 ppg better than they had in the regular season, and that’s with the playoffs being a slower game, so no Mavs have not played this amazing defense, they’ve played the same they did all season that had them middle of the pack

You don’t have to, you can bring CJ off the bench as a super 6th man.

IMO, Trae and CJ are not a tenable back court duo, you’re gonna play CJ for 15 minutes? Or do you think they could win the minutes with both of them on the court?

Along with the best offense in the league.

They definitely could, I personally would run out a small ball lineup at points in the game with Trae, CJ, Hawk, Trey and Zion and just score on motherfrickers at will daring them to try to stop it. I would give up alot of points, but who cares if you give up 20 points in 10 minutes if you’re scoring 30? This lineup obviously wouldn’t be ideal in most playoff settings, but going small and fast would run alot of teams off the floor in the regular season

And my closing 5 against smaller teams like OKC would be the same as above just with Herb inserted over Hawk

Willie Green would watch this for 30 seconds and literally have a panic attack. Lets not forget who our coach is.

At some point Willie is going to have to embrace offensive guys and pure offensive lineups if he wants to remain as a HC in this league.

And to be fair, I did say I personally would do it.

Most trades are:
1. Swapping fringe pieces
2. Paying someone to take a contract you don’t want
3. Future assets for disgruntled players.

BI is basically 2. He has value so we won’t have to give up a lot but you aren’t getting fair value for a player that everyone knows you don’t want. We really didn’t get much value out of the Jrue and AD trades and we won’t get much value out of this trade. It’s just the reality. Probably our best bet is to take another player a team wants to get rid of like Trae.

Bi is not like 2
I could see Griffin holding him if he doesn't get what he wants. Some of yall are acting like he is letting bi go no matter what.

JMO...Dyson is key to Pels' future. One way or another, gotta find a way to have him AND Herb on the court together. DD wil make Herb much more effective on the defensive end.

That's scary.

I don't see that next yr at all. Dyson has a long ways to go.

Sure we'd score a lot of points, but i bet it wouldn't be more than our opponent.
We'd be lucky to hold our opponents to under 75% FG% with that lineup.
SGA would probably laugh out loud as he brings the ball down the court and saw those 3 in the game together.

CJ and Dame didn't work
Trae and just about anyone but Herb won't work.
CJ and Trae definitely won't work.

And CJ isn't coming off the bench, nor should we have a guy making $30M/yr comign off the bench.
Trey's role as a starter is to take CJ's place as the shooter.
Hawkins needs to take Trey's reserve role as the shooter.
Trey isn't starting until CJ is moved.

If we trade BI for a center or picks then yes Trey would start. But I agree that if we go out and get a guard we need to move CJ.

Cave: BI + CJ + 24' 1st, + 25' 1st

Pels: Garland + Allen + Jonathan Issac + LaVert

Magic: Liddell + Nance

Garland/ Jose/
LaVert/ Hawk/
Trey/ Dyson/ Ryan
Zion/ Issac/
Allen/

We would still have about 15mil in can space I believe.

What else would we have to include for the Cavs to do this? 1-2 more picks? Dyson?

Orlando would counter that offer with Joe Ingles and Cole Anthony for Herb, Trey, and Hawkins. And the Pelicans would be more likely to accept that trade than Orlando would be to accept Liddell and Nance for Isaac.
