My hot takes are:

We end up as a top 4 seed in the West.

Dyson Daniels makes all-rookie team.

Trey shoots over 41% from deep. Becomes an elite 6th man.

Zion has an MVP like season.

Jaxson progresses much more than expected and actually nets us a nice asset at the trade deadline.

Yes, he showed a lot of flashes in other phases of his game that got overlooked due to his outstanding defense.

if
all that happens
top 4 is likely.

I feel like the “light” has been on for Jose from day 1. Kira is the one that needs his “light” turned on.

Mitchell and Murray gone from the Western conference. I think CJ may be able to make it there for the first time (maybe with a little injury help).

I hate to say it, but I have a bad feeling about Jose Alvarado this season. He is one of my favorite players. I just think that he might get the bright lights in his eyes and lose his edge that he had last year. I hope to sweet BJ that I am off base with this gut instinct.

If I hadn't posted this, I would probably downvote it too, so I get it. Please relate any good vibes you have heard about Jose during the offseason, especially the last couple of months. I want him to continue to be the REAL JOSE!!

I don't think we have to worry about Jose losing his edge. He's not the most physically gifted player out there & at 6' , I think his constant "edge" is what has gotten him to where he is today.

Having said that, I'm still probably not as high on Jose as many others are.

Jose is great off the bench for a spark but if he is closing games then we would be in trouble.

Jose had a nice run of minutes for PR in international play as the primary ball handler and scoring option, and as the team leader. Sometimes you need to see what that looks like in order to add it to your game.

He’s going to get a minutes increase this year (Graham’s minutes) and if he can add just a small amount of scoring (forcing him to be guarded) it will make his on/off numbers even better.

He’s not a star, he’s not a 2/3/4th option, he’s a role player. And we are very fortunate to have found him

Hot Take

A portion of this board writes off Dyson Daniels as a bust by December, but later act like that never happened by April.

I could definitely see that one.

I think like other rookies such as Murphy, fans tend to have unrealistic expectations and will see the few rookies that do come out the gate strong and naturally question why our guy might not. And Dyson has a core flaw(shooting) that needs fixing before he can be more than a spot contributor on this roster.

Though I also expect a lot of handwringing about benching Graham for Dyson. Cause I strong suspect Graham will still be in the major rotation and above Dyson on the depth chart

Herb scored 10 points per game as a rookie while focusing on Defense. His cuts to the basket look great and he can certainly drive when he needs to. Herb is the least of my worries.

I agree. if no injury 2nd stringer subs not exposed.
most of the finals champs the past decade scooted past a team with a starter injury or two.
two i recall:
gsw got past lebron when love and Kyrie out injured.
Kyrie dominated curry first game.
lebron got by gsw when idiot green out on technicals then next one bogut out injured.

also a weird factor is if a better team has injury during season and ends up 5th seed but by playoffs they are healed and cooking and mop the floor with the 4 seed.
memphis starting without Jj jr look like nominee to exceed reg season in playoff mode.
