not boring to me. They play great, sound, team basketball. They find players that fit, and utilize them to the best of their abilities. Monty fricks this up x10. He doesn't put players in a position where they can excel.

Belli is fricking killing it in SA. We have guys on this team that don't even know their roles. WTF!

This is true 100%. The frigging Knicks are the league's top franchise, followed by LAL, Bulls, Celtics, Nets. NYK broke a record for revenue a season ago, and they can't win to save their lives.
It's a business 1st, entertainment 2nd, winning 3rd.

Hell, I'd be ok with being bounced in the 1st round a few times if my franchise was successful, wouldn't you?

There are so many things in that quote that make me sad/angry I don't even know where to start

God I love Monty Williams

I was assuming Tyreke was injured. If we benched his arse for "communication issues" when he could have made a difference in the game then I'm pissed.

I expect this to get a lot worse before it gets better.

This is a problem.

That's because we're asking role players to play starting roles. Tyreke's primary role should be attacking the lane, and if the team were 100%, that's what would be happening. Tyreke's in a new system and being asked to do a lot because of injuries. It is a shame that whatever happened was bad enough for Monty to feel the need to sit him, but this is yet another footnote in a crappy season. A more veteran team probably wouldn't have allowed things to go this far, but we weren't that veteran to begin with and our most veteran players are all out with injury. I seriously doubt Gordon would try to fix things much and Tyreke has no reason to listen a bunch of kids and DLeaguers.

Yeah and then trade for another player that Monty cannot relate to or know how to use. There appears to be a common, incompetent, theme. It is time for a change at the coaching position.

I doubt many people actually paid attention to his career before coming to NO.

Evans not knowing his role is the defining characteristic of his NBA career. He is just a wholly unique player. Weird Fit should be his nickname jersey.

Monty hasn't done a great job of putting him into the right context, but, to be fair, Evans needs a very specific context (IMO shooters and big perimeter players so he can hide on defense).

It's February in a long season that has not gone as planned. shite happens. Evans is, by all accounts I've seen, a solid locker room presence and good guy. Nothing to see here IMO.

How do you know that? The article I read didn't make Tyreke sound great.

I still don't understand why Tyreke hasn't been starting at point guard since the first day of Jrue's injury.

Yeah, that's where I think Tyreke is misdirecting his frustration. Rotations have nothing to do with him shooting 0.167 from 3. He is quite often a ball hog and seems to have tunnel vision attacking the rim. He has been playing well, but there are obvious places he needs to improve.

Yeah, the team lacks maturity and it shows up in those awful spells. This is just another instance. I don't know what happened, but with this immature team, sitting him could turn into a great teaching move or it could blow up completely, but it will almost certainly be somewhere in the middle. I feel like the time it took him to give that interview would have been better spent in the gym taking jumpers.

Come on Dell, let's spend another $44 million on a player that does not fit or your coach cannot figure out what to do with.
