At least Monty has good communication with Roberts

He's averaging 6 ast/36 min. Which isn't too bad at all, for a player who is never really playing "PG".

C'mon.

There would be numerous teams interested in Evans if he were to hit the trade market.

Yes. But they would give us back Josh Smith, etc if we are lucky. Crap.

His contract has too much on it and too long for us to get good value at this point. Just gotta ride this out and hope he finds his role.

6.076 ast/36
3.038 to/36

add that to:
16.446 FGA/36
5.831 FTA/36

And you're looking him using about 28 possessions per 36. He may not be playing point defensively, but he's getting his possessions on the ball.

agreed...he assists very well for a SG...and he's playing in a role where he's supposed to provide a scoring spark off the bench..

...Jamaal Crawford and J.R. Smith are the epitomes of ball hogs, and they both have received 6th man of the year honors.

I don't see Josh Smith as crap...this season in Detroit has been a mess...he's out of position, doesn't work next to Monroe, shoots too many threes, etc., but he's a good player.

...would be interesting playing PF next to Davis, imo.

I would rather him than Gordon.

A 2:1 ratio for a SG...pretty good

My problem with Josh Smith is that he doesn't accept his offensive limitations and will jack it up from anywhere on the floor.

We can put him at the 4 next to Davis and make it work IF we have a 2 and a 3 with some range to them.

Ryno's got the range to make a lineup with him, Smith, and Davis work in short bursts, but he can't defend the 3 well enough to do it for long.

I don't think Josh Smith is a part of any winning recipe.

He really isn't, but I'm trying to show what kind of roster turnover we'd really need in order to make him work for us.

It's a long, expensive contract and we don't have the pieces to cover up his deficiencies.

...worked pretty well in Atlanta.

Defensively, Smith and Davis could be the best.

...I'm not saying we should get him or he's a perfect option, but I don't think he's a good player, not as terrible as everyone on here acts like he is....and I'd rather his bad contract than Gordon's.

and his last 3 games.

Positions don't matter with Evans. It's about skills and fit.

Evans needs his own Z Graph.

Put him on the floor in big lineups (like the Nets use- big guards, big wings-) with shooters and let him work. Obviously much easier said than done

I guess it depends on your definition of working...the Smith and Horford combo won a lot of games from 2008-2009 on -- winning records every season...they didn't win titles, but they had a lot more success than we're used to.

The Smith/Davis combo would be a lot better.

I don't know.

...Tyreke is a good player. He had a good season last year.

He's been very good at times this year...for whatever reason, whether it's coaching, scheme, personnel, or immaturity, it's not working as well this season.

...Josh Smith is also a good player. This season in Detroit has been a disaster so far, but he's been dominant his last three games.

And also, other than this season, Josh Smith has been a very good player.

When we were kicking the idea of Tyreke around I said I'd want him if he was prepared to play in a 6th man role. I figured it'd take one more failed stop to accept the role but he seemed ok with it once we over paid him. The money may be too much, but the role is right if the team is healthy.

You think he's gonna get traded ATL?

I just don't see it happening

I don't see us getting anything back outside of a 3 quarters for a dollar type scenario

He's not getting traded. I just don't see that happening this early in a relatively large contract.

I don't think Gordon gets traded before the deadline either.

I think any move we make will be a relatively small one.
