Does this help us sign D'angelo Russell?

Bad franchise make the playoffs all the time. Get lucky every once in a while because the players overcome the front office. I think of the Arizona Cardinals that one magical year with Warner, for instance.

But only good franchises have sustainability. The foundation of this franchise was garbage. Utter garbage. The fact that they had one awesome 10 game win streak and then got an ideal playoff matchup one year and happened to win says nothing about the foundation.

Langdon’s reputation and background in scouting make him the perfect person to help discover the right role players to put around a star. Between adding Zion and the FO hirings, this really will be a completely different and much more impressive organization asking AD to stay.

I honestly feel like I woke up in an alternative universe. I can't believe how well this off-season has gone for this franchise. The future is beyond bright sons

Great hire! This ended up being best case scenario to what I wanted at the start of our hiring process. I was intrigued by Griffin because of the clout I knew he had, and I was intrigued by Langdon because I felt he had the makings of being a up and coming top level GM. And now we have them both. Really amazing.

I LOVE IT. Griffin is killin it.

Needed something great to happen today, to help mask my inevitable disappointment with a particular series finale later this evening.

Just talked to some people about Langdon. Some quick hits:

- Langdon cares about you as a person first, employee second.
- Extensive scouting background, still a legend in Europe from his playing days
- Expect an uptick in international scouting
- Cares deeply about culture and brings a player perspective to the FO. This plays a big role in constructing locker culture.
- Big on family. Takes extra step on getting to know and caring for the families of both players and staff.

Gayle is literally in "see it, want it, buy it" mode right now.

It's awesome.

A few more things:

He speaks fluent Russian. Has extensive connections in Europe, but especially in Italy and Russia.

Scouting in Europe for us is about to expand greatly.

Yeah, the narrative of the Pels being a poorly run organization is make a 180 of epic proportions. Griffin, Langdon, training staff...heck it wouldn't surprise me for us to say to heck with the luxury tax and just go BIG

This is a great hire IMO. He’s a young and raw, but he’s got a swagger with players that Griffin doesn’t have. He can learn under Griffin and eventually be a really good GM

OT but does anyone have a link to whatever Gentry or Griffin said about the facility upgrades at the lotto?
