quote:I’d imagine if you’re investing so much in brown you’re looking to contend or make a deep playoff run. I just don’t see this roster achieving that without Trey. It’s not so much Brown as it is I don’t trust Zion staying healthy and impacting wins as a second option. Plus we still lack shooting. Fears and Queen would have to make massive second steps for it to work like we want it
I really don't understand people not wanting jaylen brown. Would people not want Tatum? It makes zero sense.

The Boston Celtics continue to be engaged in trade talks centered on Jaylen Brown and have asked some interested teams in a pick-heavy return, according to ESPN's Shams Charania. "What's the ask now?" said Charania on Friday's episode of Get Up. "From my understanding, the Celtics have asked teams for at least four first round picks for Jaylen Brown."

Because teams who trade for Brown want to compete and keep most of their key players.

So Herb/ (4) 1st/ (3) swaps isn't impossible..

Let's be honest - those early picks can be used to nab rotational players. Those late picks you're controlling their future, just like we did for Milwaukee, as other teams have done to phoenix, Brooklyn, lac, etc.
Hell Boston built this team because of asset acquisitions.

If tweet fails to load, click here. This seems to be some posturing by other teams trying to get Boston to lower their price

Don’t think it’s JB alone. Taking on a $57M player who expects to compete for chips….
Small market. Team not going into tax. You gut team / draft picks and what does JB have to work with?
If you could send out Z / Poole, get JB, get some shooters and bigs….. but that’s not happening

Another issue is that when you burn that much assets to acquire him, you really want his commitment to extend and he has to agree to extend before any trade will happen.
I don't know if very many teams want to commit to that and Brown isn't going to extend if he doesnt want to be there.

If the Pels have a chance you 1000% take Brown, there’s no other player of that Caliber walking through that door anytime soon.

Seems like we aren’t really in the mix for Brown. So we can probably kill that idea

Bridges, Brooks, Booker is a fun trio.
Pels doing nothing after two horrendous years is pretty hilarious. Plus the moves that people think they’re going to do will not help much.
