I really wish I could give a frick about this team again. Alas, they keep doing the things I expect them to do. (nothing)

Man I just find this franchise hilarious. I’m not sure how you can’t at this point

I kind of wanted them to do something nuts so I could laugh.

But doing literally nothing after winning 47 games in 2 years is also funny

All these teams getting better and ole Joe just sleeping at the wheel. I can’t believe we are running this train wreck back.

This is not correct.

We are still under the tax.

Therefore, we have access to the Non-Taxpayer MLE.

Sources: New York Knicks have tried feverishly to trade for New Orleans Pelicans center Yves Missi after losing Mitchell Robinson, but offers have been rejected multiple times. Pelicans view Missi as a vital core figure and the message is that he’s unavailable.

Yes, not the full $15mil, more like $11-13mil

I doubt we were spending that on anyone that would make a difference though.

Tolerance test…….

Cavs get: Murphy and Poole

Pels get: Mobley and Strus

Realize there are serious financial implications to consider. Thoughts on something Iike that?

Cavs aren’t trading Mobley.

If anything Allen.

Something like

Pels get Allen, Strus, LeVert, picks

Cavs get Poole, Holland, Karlo, pick

Pistons get Trey, Tomlin

I’m not sure that’s totally true. Celtics discussed Mobley for Brown. Mobley will make $50 million this coming season and $120 million over the next four.

Mobley is also an all-NBA defender and can stretch the floor. Fits better with LeBron since they are, undoubtedly, pursuing him.

Using the full MLE would put us in the tax which they will absolutely never pay

Mobley is the definition of a high-end 3rd wheel on a championship caliber team.

He can defend very well. He doesn't need the ball in his hands. He can somewhat space the court (last year was 30%, but year prior was 37% on the same volume ~5 attempts/game)

He isn't a superstar, but if you're pursuing LeBron like you said --- you're wanting him to be the 3rd wheel for 1-2 years. He also plays both PF and C.

Now if this whole entire thing fails in 1-3 years; you move him because he'd be at 60mil going into his final year and he is most definitely not supermax money
