Only contract that makes sense is Willy for Serge

Seems so, but no real reason for Milwaukee to send out 1 dude not happy about not playing to add another dude who isn't happy about not playing.

Go get Ayton. Send some picks (both Milwaukee picms), JV, and Graham for a legit center that can matchup against the elite teams in the NBA.

Cmon. Typical tigerdroppings "lets trade our crappy player and picks for your #1 pick all-star who you just gave a big contract to because you want to keep him." There would be no incentive for the Suns to do that

Although JV is not crappy by any means, he's a great player, but he's not someone the Suns would be happy with getting in return.

The Lakers, and other teams, have had interest in players like Bojan Bogdanovic, but have found the asking price too high. With so few sellers on the trade market, the Detroit Pistons have set an asking price of two first-round picks for Bogdanovic. Over the next week or so, trade talks are expected to pick up more around the NBA, according to Wojnarowski.

frick you Tim Connely for giving up so damn much for Rudy fricking Gobert that now teams think every single player is worth at least 2 firsts

Can Ayton even be traded this season?

I thought there was some time restriction on the bigger contracts.

The time restriction has passed, he can be traded, he just cant be sent to Indiana, and he has the power to veto any trade until the off-season

I still think Graham, Hayes, Hernangomez, Temple, a Milwaukee 1st, and maybe the Pels 2024 1st for Bogdanovic and Burks would be great.

Get the shooter they need and a better bench guard than Graham.

Detroit gets some young players to test out and without Bogdanovic they can tank the rest of the season.

Great for who?

That trade leaves us with zero big men behind Jonas, and also puts us into the luxury tax while having 2 open roster spots

This is relevant not because it really moves any needles for the Lakers, but this could set the bar for Jaxson's value since Hachimura was taken 1 spot behind him, has also been a disappointment, and is probably in line for a similar 2nd contract.

If it's 3 2nds without Washington sending anything else back, that would put Jaxson's value at 3 2nds too, which is more than I thought it would be.

Surprised no one can outbid that. I know rui couldn’t agree on an extension..but still.

I really don't think it helps them all that much, but what worries me is that its a fairly smart deal, and that is unusual for the lakers.

They take a chance on a guy with talent, at a need position, coming from a team that routinely squanders talent, for a pretty nothing price. If it doesn't work out its not a big deal, if it does they are in a better place.

I don't like them being smart.

I would take 3 seconds for jax in a heartbeat. I dont think its crazy to say jax has been better than rui so far and he's much younger than rui

Why on earth would anyone outbid that? He's objectively worse than Jaxson Hayes, and like Jaxson is expecting a raise on a new contract.

Definitely makes Lakers slightly better, but doesn't move their ceiling IMO.

Theyre still going to be on the outside of the playin

The crazy thing is, pound for pound the Lakers may be one of the best young talent scouting teams in the league the last 10 years.

But because they are also idiots, rarely do they leverage that in their favor. And when they do, they are quick to sell them off to bring in "stars" and "vets"

So if the Lakers see something in Rui still, yeah, I'd lean toward this ends up being a good move for them....until they flip him and others for Kyle Lowry or some stupid shite in the offseason.
