Ainge probably wants to fall out of the play in and into the lottery.

Utah doesn’t care about this season.

If they get the Lakers future unprotected first, that's pretty good for some role players.

Draft compensation is often the most inaccurate part of rumors. I remember for about 10 minutes we thought we traded Nerlens Noel for both Jrue and a 1st from Philly. Those 10 minutes were the peak of Dell Demps tenure with the Pels.

That would be disgusting if the Lakers received all that.

Yeah if that’s the case, Pels might need to flip the pick swap.

The good news for us is that Russell might be a worse defensive player than Westbrook. Beasley doesn't help with that either.

Thing is you cant trade it unless you declare you’re making the swap.

Multiple reports that they are still "working through protections" so highly unlikely its unprotected.

Also you would think getting Deangelo for Westbrook on its own is worth a 1st, not adding in Vanderbilt and Beasley.

They may also be trying for swaps in 24/25 (whichever year we don’t take), 26, and 28.

Eventually one of those swaps will pay off big for Utah.

If the Lakers get off the Russ contract and add Beasley and add Vanderbilt for only 2 1sts in 2027 & 2029 that are protected, that'll be one of the biggest trade wins in quite a while.

This assumes that the players leaving Utah go to LA.

THT or someone else may end up in Minny.

Ongoing discussions have included Utah's Malik Beasley and Jarred Vanderbilt as part of the potential three-team deal to the Lakers,

Man this better not be the deal. Those three for Russ and a 1st, that's almost a bail out.

Not gonna lie I will be a bit beside myself if they receive all 3 for Russ and a protected first 4 years out.

I would feel a heck of a lot better if a 4th team was involved to give compensation to Utah for Beasley and Vanderbilt

Ainge is a stingy bastard. I imagine he is going to wind up with both the Lakers picks and somehow the TWolves pick
