Shamit saying rumors for asking price of OG are HIGH.

I like him and he fits perfectly but it just doesn't fully make sense to pay that much then have to wayyyy overpay him at $30mil.

I think I said it above, he's substantially better than Herb, no question IMO. But he's not trade Herb+2 1sts plus $30mil to whatever Herb's extension will be level better than Herb. That seems just too much.

Am I thinking any return on Willy is worth less than what he can/cannot provide during the season?

I feel like keeping him, feeding him minutes (obviously offensively he's decent enough) to reduce the wear on JV is better than a random 2nd round pick.

My exact thoughts. Will cost way too much money and assets. Great player though.

You are not wrong, but if he really is that unhappy, sometimes you just gotta move a guy for what you can get.

That's always been my thoughts on OG.

Real good player, the acquisition cost will just be way way too high for what he gives you.

Nets want FVV from the Raptors and are looking into sending Dinwiddie and picks.

I love willy but he wont make or break our season and he wants out. Take a 2nd and get some goodwill for doing right by a player.

Terrible idea if no replacement is coming back. We don't have that kind of depth to be giving away Hernangomez right now.

In a vacuum i think FVV is better but considering he's expiring, wants +30m/year, and they would have to give up at least a 1st, I would rather have dinwiddie

Agreed. We have JV, Nance and nobody else that does "traditional big" stuff. He can stay mad if we aren't able to replace him with another backup center.

Is FVV better than Dinwiddie, so much so that you have to add draft capital to get him?

FVV has a player option for next year, that i'm sure he'll opt out of, and they are only a year apart age wise

FVV PER36 the last 3 years
19 points, 6 assists, 2 turnovers, 37% from 3

Dinwiddie PER36 the last 2 years (hurt 3 years ago)
18 points, 6 assists, 2 turnovers, 37% from 3

I think both are good defenders, but Dinwiddie is 6'5" and plays bigger than that, not 6'1" like FVV. Dinwiddie can guard 4 positions. FVV can't switch onto big guards/forwards.

It's hard to say until we see what the final roster look like after the deadline.

I seriously don't get the OG fascination for this team.

He's not any better than Herb or Dyson defensively and isn't enough of an upgrade offensively.

Plus, he has character issues. Anyone who signs with Klutch is guilty at minimum of poor judgment.

And why trade Willie for nothing? Keep him and he can get dealt in the summer if he still wants out. frick solids. We need depth.

I’m with you. We need to hit on specific types of lower contract players that fill roles like a sharp shooter. I’d be willing to see how to get bogdonavich.

but yet he is both.

that's character issues? You'd feel the same if it was CAA a decade ago. yes they are scummy when it comes to getting LeBron what he wants, but they're just an agency otherwise.

Lonzo? Good character
Ant Edwards? Good character
Clarkson? Good character
Sexton? Good character
GTJ?
Nurkic?

On and on. yes, nobody denies they don't have people fans hate (green, lebron, AD, etc). but that's far from character issues like Ja Morant and Dillon Brooks.
