We've talked about 8 to Charlotte for 13+15+something for awhile.

That is really bad value Imo. You're essentially saying that Jaxson is negative value in that scenario, and I do not think he is.

smith
Chet
paolo
Ivey (for whoever trades up)
mathurin
murray
sharpe (for whoever trades up)
daniels

These 8 guys have been the clear top 8 for a few weeks now. I can’t see anyone else jumping ahead of them honestly. I also think there’s no chance we trade back.

So, David Fisher posted an interesting mock trade I like

Hayes + 8 for 13 and 15

He opts to take Mark Williams and Ochai Agbaji in those spots

I wouldn't take Williams but I like Agbaji.

Interesting idea.

Depends on who is available at 8, but that does not really excite me.

Yeah that’s a silly trade suggestion, 8 is worth more than 13+15 by itself. The Pelicans aren’t that desperate for cap relief and I doubt they could get a serviceable player for what we pay Jaxson. CHA would have to throw in a future first at least for it to make any sense for the Pels.

Also again, where are those roster spots/minutes going to come from? We already have more picks than we can use. To me a trade that consolidates assets or pushes them further out makes much more sense.

So he read my thread and stole the idea

I don’t dig it
I’d rather take a swing at sharpe at 8

Jaxson isn’t going to hurt anything if we keep him until February

I said the other day I would move Jax for a rack of balls, but there’s no reason to include him in that deal.

I like it. I love both players and I don't want to extend Hayes.

Agbaji and Williams are natural replacements for McCollum and Val in two years, when their contracts expire. They get a year to learn. Contribute 2nd year and move up to starters in year 3. Be even better if they included a future pick or a swap and took Graham or Temple too..

Fishers takes are generally bad. I l don’t mine the idea but Agbaji is a terrible choice. He has a hard on for him

how on earth is Agbaji a natural replacement to CJ? A 22 year old who doesn’t drive to the rim and has zero self creation. Branham or even Jalen Williams are much closer to a CJ replacement than him.

Bad trade, I wouldn’t do that trade just for 13&15 much less with Jax included. Take whoever’s left of Sharpe, Daniels, Mathurin. They are all in that second tier then it drops.

Apparently we’re with Sochan today.

Nice, looks like Griff, Trajan, Willie, and is that Bryson? Can't really tell with his head turned.

Yeah that’s Bryson

Edit: Agreed can really get behind this pick, he has an immediate impact regardless of his shooting capacity.

“They had lunch with Sochan” “so I’m thinking the pick will be Sochan”. Very great breakdown.

Just like how we met with Griffin, so it has to be Griffin at 8. Not like we interviewed and brought in 16 guys.

Agreed, he's a great interview too, I've watched a few of his recent interviews. He just wants to win, will do all the little things, doesn't give a shite about box score stats.
