In which we post and discuss the many rumors swirling leading up to the draft, including where prospects might go, and what trades may go down.

quote:

[Siegel] Barring a drastic change, the Houston Rockets are preparing to take Paolo Banchero third overall in next week’s draft, assuming he is still on the board. Banchero impressed during his team workout and moving Christian Wood on Wednesday was a preparation move for this

quote:

Alex Kennedy
@AlexKennedyNBA
"I also heard Chet Holmgren has not provided his medical information to teams (at least most of them), and did not do the NBA's heart screening. That could suggest that his agents are trying to manipulate the draft and direct him to a specific spot."

quote:

Per Quinton Mayo, a Washington Wizards insider, reported in his substack Thursday that Washington is very interested in Jaden Ivey, who is widely considered the 4th best player in this year’s draft:

“For starters, you would think it would need to include the No. 10 pick this season, plus possibly Kyle Kuzma and one of Deni Avidija or Rui Hachimura, with maybe even another future protected first round pick coming to the Kings. For Sacramento, this package would keep them in the lottery and give them a chance to draft a promising rookie while adding to their currently barren wing depth.”

Looks like Chet is trying to get to OKC. That pretty much locks the top 3 in a lot of people's minds (Smith, Chet, Banchero).

Rumors are flying of multiple teams trying to trade with Sac at 4, including the Washington Wizards, so that could determine the next few picks. Ivey allegedly does not want to go to Sac.

Also it is rumored that OKC is trying to move up into Portland's spot.

Please do OKC. I'd much rather have to take whoever is leftover between Mathurin or Daniels than figure out how to handle Sharpe being the top player on the board at 8.

man how interesting it would be if Murray starts to fall. Wonder if the pacers would consider swapping 6 for 8

that’s not such a big move back. One future 1st should do it?

Pacers will take Murray in less than a second. He's the guy they desperately want and need, but is unlikely to be there.

If he is, it isn't even a thought process.

I'm very much Ok with the Sharpe decision being out of our hands.

Will the kid from Baylor make it to the 8 spot?

the only team Chet has to manipulate is Orlando. And if they pass on smith they should be disbanded

Everyone is saying Sharpe, but I could 100% believe it to be a smokescreen and be Daniels. He does seem like an OKC type guy.

Rumor seems to involve at least Lu Dort going to Portland. What a great day for OKC if they leave with Chet and either Daniels, Mathurin or Sharpe.

I see any trades above us as a good thing to possibly shake loose one of these guys we aren’t thinking will be available.

I am not sold as Smith as this auto 1.1.

Banchero and Chet have legit arguments.

He's international (so works for a small market) and will pair next to his countryman Giddey. He pairs well with Giddey, too.

Chet
?
Giddey
Daniels
?
SGA

leads to some intriguing lineups. With Giddey and Daniels you have a lot of playmaking to go with SGA.

I guess you're playing Daniels at SF? Only way that makes sense.

I think he’s definitely big enough to play 1-3.

Daniels could theoretically play 2-4 depending on the style. That's why pairing him with Giddey (who kind of has that multi-positional look) is interesting.

Kind of like what Toronto does, but lesser athletes and better skill/IQ out of the gate

Washington may actually be enticing enough for SAC to move out of #4

Honestly, I would like it quite a lot for Sac if they could get 10, Deni and Kuzma.

It would make Sac a lot better immediately.

Which I'd hate for us.

plus possibly Kyle Kuzma

kuzma in Sacramento would be high comedy, and probably the best place for him

I think Kuzma is kinda underrated at this point. He's a pretty good player and people just hate him.

He'd probably be ok with being back in Cali and in the Bay area (adjacent).

Kuzma, Deni, and say Agbaji or Sochan makes the Kings a lot better, pretty quickly.

no doubt
like I said sacto is perfect for him
his usage rate would be the funny part. A player like him on a team like that is the good stuff
