I get doing due diligence but that would be the fricking stupidest shite of all-time.

Mother of all melts if it happens.

Praying it’s only due-diligence/getting word in superstars ears that the Pels are in on winning a ship. For all the talk of “doing it right” that has come out lately…the ‘ship would be sweet either way…but it would be even sweeter with the guys we have now.

If we trade Zion, BI or Herb. Yes.

Nets don't have any picks to add for taking an aging player on a max contract for a young star or super star.

Guaranteed 100-page thread. Every single rantard will have to post some variation of the same simple-minded thoughts.

There is probably a package out there that I won't hate...

But if it includes any of:
Zion
BI
CJ
Herb

Then I riot. And I really would be sad to see JV, Jose, and Larry go as well.

I can't imagine a package that doesn't include 2 of Daniels, Hayes, and Murphy and at least one of the above guys and a boatload of picks...

Hell, I think I am ready to riot

There are 100s of thousands of Pelican fans. There are a couple hundred people on this board with less than a 100 regular posters. This board is hardly any indication of what the fanbase feels or wants. They want a winner and Championships. They are doing what they think will accomplish that..

I love this team too and am completely happy if we didn’t make this trade but I do think it’s funny so many people are worried about ruining the future of a team who was 10 games under .500 and barely squeaked out a win against the clippers who didn’t have their stars playing. Like literally losing their shite over it.

there’s legit people out there on the internet (mainly Reddit, Twitter) that are saying they’d rather just win and have success with this current team but not win a ring than have KD on this team and win a ring. It’s bonkers

These are all probably the same people that didn’t want to trade Hart for CJ either. I remember when that was thing a few months back.

I'm just in disbelief that there were dozens of threads last season where people wanted to trade Zion for leftover dog food, and today they are ready to riot if we trade him for Kevin Durant.

And some of them are the same people.

if you can get Kevin F’n Durant for giving up one of Zion, BI, or CJ you make the trade 100/100 times. Really don’t understand how this board doesn’t realize he’s one of the best to ever play and still has good years left

The Pels were a completely different team from the beginning of the season to the end of the season.

With CJ and BI playing they were one of the best teams in the NBA. They turned it around just getting healthy before the trade.

The Pels have a good team that should compete for top seeding without trading for KD.

If I were any GM I would tell KD to pound sand. Why would you want a player who agreed to a long term contract in exchange for getting paid to SIT a fricking year. They KNEW he wasn't going to play for a year and paid he somewhere around forty million to sit a year, that was in exchange for 5 years of healthy play. He went back on that deal, he is a POS.

I’m not picking a side here….. but would be totally Pelicans for our fans to be furious about having a lineup that may even be the title favorite along the lines of:

CJ McCollum/ Jose
Brandon Ingram/ Dyson Daniels
Herb Jones/ Treye Murphy
Kevin Durant/ Treye Murphy
Jonas Valancunas/ Larry Nance

(Via a trade of Zion, Graham, Temple and Hayes)

Just find it really hard to believe that we will give up assets for a 34 year old who’s played in 50 games the past 2 years and that will be essentially be a 1-2 year rental. If we’re giving up anyone good then we should be the ones getting assets. If you think his next team will be the last team he’ll play for, then you’re fooling yourself. KD has shown he has no problems demanding trades and it will inevitably happen again in a year or 2.

I addressed this yesterday but the pels:

1.Didn't have Zion for the entire season

2. Had to give major minutes to NAW/Graham/Sato/temple for nearly half a season until Jose came on

3. BI missed 20 games(pels have a winning record with him playing)

4. CJ came 3/4ths of the way into the season and Nance to a much lesser extent

No, we have to deal with stupid piano story stuff, we have to see Zion fail to show up in Phoenix with BI and Trajan to watch the Finals, we have to see Zion staying in Las Vegas during the summer league last summer but avoiding the team, we get to see Zion's camp bashing our training staff and telling the media that they aren't sure that his future is here in New Orleans ...

... but Kevin Durant is too much of a drama queen for the Pelicans. We need someone with a no-nonsense, team-first personality, like Zion. Nosireee, Bob, no drama with that guy.

And through all of that won over half their games for the last 5 months of the season.

after the CJ trade we were .500. We were .533 including the play in games. To think this team can finish 3-4th in the west next year with a healthy Zion isn’t crazy.

Would replacing him with KD make you better than the warriors? If not, why not try to run it back with this squad plus Zion and see how far we can get.

it would be pretty damn close especially since GS already lost 3 pretty big role players.

Would depend what else we gave up along with Zion.
