Mac said on Twitter a trade being discussed is Herb and 23 or 40 to Atlanta, 13 and the 2026 Pels/Bucks pick back to us.

Would actually like that one.

So Atlanta is going to wind up with both of our Defensive wings.

That’s horrible. ATL arse raped us in the DD trade, then end up with Herb and shite we gave them from DD to ultimately end up with Herb anyway lol?

Not to mention Whatiknowsofar just told everyone there’s no difference between 13 and 23.

Getting pick 13 and another 1st for a player you drafted in the 2nd round that’s about to get a big extension is a win.

And that’s WIKSF’s opinion, there is a huge difference from 13 to 23, and we could possibly keep 23 and just send 40 giving us 3 1sts in this draft. Not to mention still having Murray who could rehab and as shown by multiple players still come back at 90+% of his normal self, so in a nutshell we would have traded Dyson, Herb and Nance for #13 and Murray. That’s a win

so you are saying one is on the decline and one is on the incline?

Has CJ looked like he was on the decline? We were terrible last year. Everyone looked like they were on the decline. CJ will end up with a contender and shoot over 40% from 3 next year.
And yes I know CJ will start to decline sooner rather than later, but I don't think it's started yet.

I was a bit irritated at the trade as my first reaction, but it's really not that bad of a trade. CJ needed to be moved. Poole really isn't a bad return for him, I just don't think he's what we need on our team, at least not at $30M/yr and starting. I'd love to have a $20m/yr Jordan Poole coming off the bench and scoring 18ppg.
I've always like Saddiq Bey and wanted to draft him. He's a good wing role player to add.

I just thought we'd add a better piece when moving CJ by attaching assets to the trade to get better. I guess i get what we did here and it'll be ok, just wasn't what i was looking for.

I think everyone needs to internalize that Herb will leave as a free agent. We can’t offer him more money than others and someone will pay him. He doesn’t fit the timeline either. So getting anything for him would be awesome.

Why are you putting words into my mouth? I told you the success rate of pick 15 and 25 is virtually the same. You're freaking out about value, but you've clearly demonstrated an inability to understand how the NBA Draft works

You looking at it wrong. Doesn’t matter where he was drafted. Nuggets took Jokic in the 2nd. Getting two firsts for him would be a win to right? Didn’t make it a good trade.

I don’t think you understand the loss in value in the difference of 8-10 picks.

Guess you’ll find out if we end up losing Herb over it in this stupid trade.

Who cares where Herb was drafted? That is irrelevant. You base trades on current value. IMO he is worth much more than a 10 spot move up in a draft with pretty flat talent and a potential late 2027 pick (which is already projected to be a weak draft). MM only posting that crap because his friend works for Atlanta and if it happens, he looks like he has inside info.

How does he not fit the timeline?

Jones - 26
Zion - 24
Trey - 25
Murray - 28
Poole - 26
Bey - 26

I have no idea what you are laughing at. Did you not follow the thread?

Premise being we have no shooting because we traded a shooter for Jordan Poole, who supposedly doesn’t fit. All while Poole shot better than said traded player.

And again, for what it’s worth. Pooles true shooting percentage was 59.1%. That’s 4.1% better than CJ’s last season, which is a drastic amount. Pooles 59.1 nearly matches CJ’s 59.2% from two years ago, and is better than every single other season of CJ’s 12 year career. Jordan also has a season at 59.8 true shooting in the 21/22 season.

We can say he’s inconsistent, we can question his defense, and we for sure can question his decision making. But to act like he can’t shoot is absurd.

There's nothing at all that tells us Kelly Olynyk was one of the two best culture guys on this team. Stop. You're just making up stuff.

Herb is literally the only asset we have left to get from under DJM.

Would rather keep Herb. The only draft trade worth it to trade Herb would be #2 for Herb and #7.

Wonder how out of pocket it would be to draft both Fears and Traore (2 PG's) and then shop Murray while keeping Herb.
