Hawks: BI

Rockets: Cappella + Liddell + 24' 1st via Pels

Cavs: Nance + Landale + 25' 1st via Pels

Pels: Trae + Allen + Teri Eason

Hawks say yes. Do Cavs/ Houston?

Houston gets another pick and plenty cap space for a big move. They also upgrade at Center for the year.

Cavs get a solid center rotational player, 1st and a PF pretending to be a hybrid undersized center.

May have to add 1 more pick/ swap to Cavs but I could see this working.

Trae/ Jose
Herb/ CJ/ Hawk
Trey/ Dyson/ Ryan
Zion/ Eason/
Allen/

That doesn't seem like a good deal for anyone but the Pels.

Trae > BI
Allen > Pels 1st
I really don't see why Houston would give up Eason either for Capella and a pick on a crap draft.

Hawks will want more than just BI for Trae.

Trae for BI isn't that far off.

The difference is us attaching a 1st or us taking 20 mil extra cap space from Capella.

Trae + 20mil cap space for BI would be how that trade is viewed. And what ATL wants. (Besides Herb clearly)

How many teams are giving up several 1sts and young players for Allen?

Good young player + (1) 1st

Mid young player + (2) 1st

Allen isnt fetching (3) 1st + Hawk/ or Dyson

If we trade Dyson for any reason then I want (1) of Allen/ Eason coming back

You left out the part of said role player being not as good, frequently injured and on a bad contract.

The time to obtain picks to develop is over. That should have been done years ago when Zion was on his rookie contract. Its ok to use our own picks here and there to try and uncover a gem like drafting a center this year but we should be focusing on the development of Dyson and Hawkins and moving forward with our core around Zion.

Lavine for BI isn't far off.

We're not getting Trae for BI without giving up at least 2 unprotected picks and taking on much more salary. And even then, Atlanta would be routiing Ingram to a 3rd team for whatever additional picks they could get. Atlanta is not building around Murray and Ingram. If they trade Trae, they will be doing a complete rebuild.

Whose that other "good" role player? Hunter at $21+ million a year? To put Herb Jones and Hunter on the same playing field as simply "good role players" is disingenuous at best.

WTF? The talk is about how much the Bulls will have to attach to Lavine to dump that albatross of a contract.

We have been drafting pretty well. If there is someone who they really like, they should go for it.
I agree except when it means trading a solid starter on a very team friendly contract for the next 3 years to do so. It creates another hole in the roster for a chance at a draft pick. If they were using a backup as well as future picks, it would be a much different scenario.

I kind of agree.

It's either trade Murray and still try to build a contender, or trade Trae and just do a complete rebuild around Sarr and Jalen Johnson.

And Trae Young is still just 25 years old, and two years younger than Murray. They still have time to retool their roster around Trae.

It would be wonderful if we could trade them BI for Murray, but instead of sending them Herb we go get Caruso from Chicago to send to ATL in his place.

This is absolutely where they are. If they trade Trae, they will also be trading Murray, Bogdanovic, and everyone except Johnson and the #1 pick.

I'm not saying it's the smart thing for Atlanta to do. I think it will end up very similar as Portland with Lillard. They won't be a contender, and he will end up asking for a trade later.

Absolutely. And in 2 years, the talk will be about what will need to be attached to dump Ingram's contract.

Obviously, Ingram will get a better return this summer. But it's not going to be anywhere near what most people on this board believe without attaching multiple additional assets.

Always fun to read other fans' message boards. Reading a Hawks board, they think they can get Herb for Hunter. One guy who supposedly is connected said the MM tweet was not too far off and that trade was discussed but the #1 was not in the deal. It was Murray, Capela and Hunter for BI, Herb and Nance. He said that did not appear to go anywhere. I would hope not. He said the latest discussion is Murray and Capela for BI, Nance and a top 8 2027 1st rounder. That sounds more reasonable. He said talks have really heated up over the last week and the Pels are hot for Murray. He said he would expect Murray will eventually be a Pelican. Not sure if this guy is really that connected or another MM.

I really do'nt care about getting Capela. I'd rather Nance than Capela. I would want more back than 2027 1st. I'm assuming BI is signing an extension with this trade, and if so then i want more back. If he isn't then i guess i'd be fine with it.

Hunter is better offensively than Herb is, and while being a step below defensively, he’s still a good defender. His issue has been health.

Not unless that pick is included.

Take out our pick and add a future pick from Atlanta.

BI has more value than Murray, and Nance has more value than Capella, I don’t understand why we giving up a pick here

What? If we attaching multiple assets with BI that means he has negative value. Is that what you are implying?

I can see attaching assets if it’s for a better player like Trae but not if we are getting lesser players….

Because the source is Atlanta, be it fan proposal or Hawks insider info. When you consider contracts, fair value is probably a straight swap of BI/Murray

No. I'm not implying that BI has negative value. I'm saying that his value is roughly what Dejounte Murray's was at the deadline. You're not getting an all star back unless you add multiple picks or take on a very undesirable contract. Without that, he will bring back something similar to Siakam, a couple of bad 1sts, Bruce Brown, and Kira Lewis.

I think the above Atlanta deal of Murray and Capella for Ingram, Nance, and a future 1st is very likely to be the range for Ingram. Otherwise it's trading him into cap space for a couple of future picks.
