I don't want a trade with Detroit except in certain 3 team trades, but its good that this perception is already out there to help push up BI's price.
Just media speculation. GMs typically do not listen to the media to form their perceptions of players and their value.

Losing Detroit and Cleveland as options for BI because our own people went to those places would be kinda brutal.

Then Griff would freak out and overpay for Trae

....and this board will see a melt like it's never seen before

Wouldn’t that be a huge red flag to every other team in the league? I’m not sure brutal even begins to describe how bad that would be. That’s why we need Langdon to do us a solid and keep his value up, even if artificially.

I hope he does that even if Cleveland and Detroit are interested

Why is everyone acting like it's a foregone conclusion that Borrego is going to Cleveland? The other name mentioned is Kenny Atkinson and he's a much bigger name, IMO.

Not to mention that Borrego is also a finalist for the Lakers.

Realistically BI + Nance + (2) 1st for Trae + Okongwu is not the end of the world.

BI + Nance + (3) 1st is not even a terrible "worst case scenario".

What we get better while developing Herb/ Trey/ Hawk/ Dyson? Still have (6) 1st for the next 7 years? Gain (2) players that fit our system and chemistry? Ohhh nooooo

Lakers are creaming themselves wanting Reddick.

Borrego may be a finalist but it is JJ’s job to lose from what has been seen.

Are you saying that you will melt in a novel way? Or that we will?

Because I don't think that most of us are going to melt on an overpay for Trae, as the potential of the Trae/Zion combo is enticing. I worry that it could flop like the Dame/Giannis combo in Milwaukee, but it might not flop -- it might lead us to a title.

If you are threatening to melt yourself, I certainly understand. I melted bigtime a couple of years ago, when most of the board said that they didn't want to trade for Durant under any circumstances because he was a cancer, locker-room poison, etc. We all have our moments.

Look at what Durant has done in Brooklyn and Phoenix and tell me whoever said that was wrong.

Not sure if either would be enough. I think they value OO much more than Capela and would prefer young players over someone like Nance.

We can give them our firsts in 24, 25, and 27, along with the Bucks potential pick in 2025 (that's very unlikely to be ours anyway). We'd still have the Lakers pick in 25, a Bucks swap in 26, and the Bucks first in 27. Our 24 pick is low, and our 25 pick will likely be low, too in this scenario. So, it's not like we'd be giving up a ton of value.

Ideally I'd like to keep at least one of those to try to upgrade to a center better than Okongwu.

Thanks, but I've got better things to do with my time than re-argue fights from two years ago. And whether I was right or not is irrelevant to the point that I was making, in any case.

I want Trae paired with Zion, plain and simple. send BI and Larry plus 2/3 firsts. Then go find a Big man to pair with Herb and Trey

I was talking like O-ver pay (pretending Trae is elite and sending 3 1sts + swaps like he's DMitch), but realistically anything more than BI and our 1st this year to me would be an overpay

*ETA: or including Herb/Trey in any form/fashion
