Mo Bamba was the 6th overall pick of the 2018 draft. He is a direct comp to Jaxson Hayes, particularly the fact that both are athletic freaks who are way behind in understanding the game. Notice that bamba did not get any big money offers prior to today.
Nobody in the league is happier about this contract than David Griffin. Bambas deal is basically a 1+1 for 10MM each with the team in full control

Justin Zanik (jazz) on whether Mitchell is untouchable

Everything in Ainge's track record tells us that Mitchell is not going to be there longterm. Damn near every NBA player's behavior, Brad Beal being the exception, tells us Mitchell's going to want out too.

and you can rightfully question the wizards for signing Beal to that contract (5 years at 35% fully guaranteed with a no trade clause).

Windhorst believes that we could see something as early as today regarding Ayton to Pacers on either an offer sheet or Sign and Trade.
Posted on 7/11/22 at 10:29 am to Fun Bunch
If true, the pacers have completely changed their team in 2-3 years.
Posted on 7/11/22 at 10:32 am to Fun Bunch
They had to wait until Brogdon got his physical before they had the space to make a run at Ayton. The guy was on vacation when he was traded.

how much cap space does Indy have? Do they have enough to make an offer PHX won’t match?
Posted on 7/11/22 at 11:05 am to cgrand
I don't have a clue. I assumed they had enough for a max offer sheet since its been mentioned several times that they may do that.
Posted on 7/11/22 at 11:06 am to cgrand
Bigger story is if they make that offer and Ayton signs, or they do a sign and trade, Phoenix is basically out of the Durant sweepstakes.
Posted on 7/11/22 at 11:07 am to Fun Bunch
They could potential have 29-30 mil available if they waive some of their non guaranteed contracts. They currently have a little over 21 mil of cap space at the moment.

so Indy gets ayton, BKN gets turner, PHX gets Durant, plus whatever other moving parts go out (mostly from PHX)

I can't see why Brooklyn would want Turner if they don't want Ayton

If Ayton signs outright, then he is out of Durant discussions. But as a sign and trade, he could still help greatly as part of the matching salary discussion if they don’t yet finalize the trade until they agree on Durant.

I have to ask, are we totally “team Jonas” or do most here still have any dreams of Myles Turner? I am still very curious where he goes and what he becomes as a player.

I’m team Jonas because A.) he’s better than Myles Turner B.) He wants to be here C.) I’m not for change just for change sake. We finally have consistency and a winning team. Let’s not mess up team chemistry for the sake of doing it.
