This look correct for current roster?:

C: Jonas, Hernangomez
PF: Zion, Nance, Liddell/Matkovic
SF: Ingram, Marshall
SG: H. Jones, Murphy, Daniels
PG: McCollom, Alvarado

Assuming they finally move on from Temple as only part of his deal is guaranteed. Also assume they either sign Liddell or bring Matkovic over, not both of them.

Not much room for a draft pick. Big man is the obvious spot, where they could move on from Hernangomez's partially guaranteed deal, which they might do anyway.

I don’t think Willie will play those guys tbh. He only played DD because of injuries. For some reason you have to be like 21 for playing time unless you’re a generational talent like Zion.

I’ll be surprised if Naji is still here as well as billy

Naji wasn't supposed to play much this year because of wing depth and Billy didn't play much because of coaching. You need at least 2 roster spots for EJ and Karlo, so Temple and someone else has to go. Then a 3rd has to go if you keep and use the draft pick.

Only reason why I can see them moving Naji is if the front office wants to ensure Willie doesn't play Naji over Dyson and stunt his development.

Naji is such a good contract especially for an end of the bench guy. But he shouldn't play over Dyson moving forward.

I wouldn't worry about EJ getting a roster spot early on. His two way contract allows him to play 50 games. Let him stay where he is until he shows he is a consistent rotational contributor before moving him to the active roster.

Billy is definitely gone. EJ’s two-way contract goes into next year too, so we could just keep him down and make sure he’s fully healed and then add him to the roster for the last 50 games.

I think the cost analysis of Naji’s contract vs his production is too good to let go. We’ll be right near the tax line and you can’t really get better depth for his price.

Very few guys on non-rookie deals as small as Naji's can give you a substitute 15-3-3 line as consistently as him.

We gotta get over this. They're one of the biggest agencies in the league. You can't just cross off every prospect, FA, or trade candidate that is signed with them. Part of the GM's job is to have relationships with agents

The amount of Naji hate is a head scratcher for sure, much less the overdoing of the CJ hate. It is what it is.

I'll never understand the hate for him. He's an UDFA that makes under 2m/yr. He's a success story for the pels development team. The only reason he gets hate is because he was forced into playing big minutes due to injuries

Yeah, I'm not trading naji unless it is for a clear upgrade.

i would be shocked if Naji isn't here, and i'd be pissed as well, unless he was part of a trade where the other team requested him b/c of his value and it makes us better.

He's exactly what you want as your 11th or 12th guy.
We need to find the next Naji. Naji basically replaced Kenny Hustle.

I don't see any circumstance where Billy is still here, and i honestly don't see Kira here either. I know he doesn't make much, but if his $5.7M is the difference in us being able to sign someone and not go over the cap, or trade someone and not go over the cap, then he without a doubt needs to go.

I do think they'll bring Josh Richardson back, which i guess i'm ok with. That's where the Kira part may matter, in bringing back Richardson, and i'd much rather Richardson than Kira. He plays great defense and can knock down open 3's, so why the hell wouldn't we want him. I feel like they wouldn't have given up 4 second round picks if they didn't have intentions of keeping him around, and i don't think that was the cost to dump DG who only really had 1 year left on his deal.

None of his deal is guaranteed. This should be a no-brainer.

Would think EJ stays on a 2-way for at least the 1st half of the season. Temple and Hayes likely create 2 roster spots. After that, Hernangomez is probably next to go if a spot needed.

I'd like JR back, he's a good shooter and a decent defender. We need to dump Kira, paying 5.7M to 14th or 15th guy is too much. Idk who will take him though. Maybe the spurs can send a fake 2nd or something to take a flier on him

Not sure which teams would be interested in Kira. Would be nice if the Hornets liked him. A deal centered around Kira and one of their bigs (Richards?) would fill a need.

The Raptors had that faint interest in him at the deadline, so it was reported. whether that's true or not, who knows.

Toronto has no backup PG after FVV, except for Flynn who they don't even play that much despite having no other PG's on the team. I would assume that's why they were interested in Kira.

Facilitating something with Kira for Koloko is what i'd like, but their salaries aren't close so Raptors would have to send out another small salary.

I also think you can send Billy to the Spurs and get one of the 4 seconds back that we sent them. He'd actually play over there and I could see them thinking he'd be a nice mentor for Wemby.

The more i think about it, the more i think it's obvious that we'll resign Richardson. I'm not sure what we can actually offer him, but 2/$16M would suffice for me.

If we were to send Billy to Spurs, Kira for Koloko while the Raptors dump Flynn somewhere, we'd have 12 on the roster with JRich, no Liddell and no 14th pick, and still have about $10M to work with under the cap.
and if you signed Liddell to $1.8M and the 14th pick to $3.2M, you'd still have $5M to use on someone with the MLE, like Watanabe.

CJ/Jose/Dyson
Herb/Richardson/Naji
BI/Trey/Watanabe
Zion/Liddell
JV/Larry/Koloko
and then you have the 14th pick for the 15th roster spot.

Rookie scale for the 14th pick this year starts at $4.2, which makes it even tighter this year when it comes to adding through Free Agency. I’m also wondering if we don’t use most of the MLE as a trade exception instead.
