I meant that tongue-in-cheek. I know there has been far far worse picks

Apparently Lakers turned down Caruso, a 2nd, and salary filler for Derrick Rose..
Imagine not getting Derrick Rose because you refuse to trade Caruso

I find it incredibly hard to believe they turned that down

Either that trade rumor has very little truth in it, or Lebron said no like a moron.

With the way the league is analytically driven, I could see some computer geek saying it's a bad trade

Troy Daniels and Quinn cook are all they really have as “salary filler”. I wouldn’t trade those guy(s) plus Caruso plus a pick for Derrick rose

quote:Why not? They offer the Lakers pretty much nothing now. They also have Cousins' contract that can be used as filler as well. I find it very hard to believe the Lakers turned that down. The rumors had been that the Pistons were looking for a 1st and/or a good young player. I wonder if the "filler" was Bradley.

Trading for rose would be a huge gamble for that team. One more outsided ego and star personality to Davis, rondo, lebron could be flammable. Rose has had a pretty good year but he’s putting up points on a terrible team with free reign on offense.
they don’t need a guy like that. They need role players

bobby marks, ESPN, in a trade deadline prediction article
quote:
Marks: I am going to circle back to the Nuggets. They have the right mix to get a deal done and not disrupt their chemistry. Would a package of Gary Harris, Malik Beasley, Juan Hernangomez and a future first-rounder be enough to pry Jrue Holiday from the New Orleans Pelicans? That would give the Nuggets an All-NBA defender to play alongside Jamal Murray and a reliable fourth-quarter presence. It would also put the Nuggets into the luxury tax for the first time since 2009-10.

I will be honest, I dont know anything about any of those guys. In my ignorance, my immediate thought is why would the Pels trade anything for a collection of nobodies, much less Jrue.
Posted on 1/29/20 at 2:11 pm to Milesahead
I think for me to trade Jrue to Denver, i want Gary Harris and Michael Porter Jr., but i doubt Denver would do that.
Posted on 1/29/20 at 2:13 pm to TeddyPadillac
Same MPJ would have to be in it. Don’t think they’d give him up

no way jose. makes absolutely zero sense from the Pels to do taht.
I don't see anything really happening this trade season. I think you're going to see a lot of movement this offseason from trades. Philly is going to make some big changes, GSW isn't keeping Russell, and i'm sure Boston, Miami and the Nets are going to have to do something to make them a better contender.

swapping porter jr for holiday would make them worse not better. Let’s stay in reality
I’m not saying they will or should trade holiday, but I am saying that if they do, that’s the kind of return we and they should expect. Two or three decent players with upcoming contract decisions and a pick. Jrue holiday is not returning a future star on a rookie deal
